I had the opportunity to unbox an Inmotion S1 Electric Scooter yesterday and thought I would share the experience :)
I had a delightful experience reviewing the Inmotion S1 these past few days. It was powerful enough for me to to get up some small hills (Power 500w, Peak 1000w) and had battery enough (675Wh) for me to travel around our fair city for ages. The ride was very smooth with the full suspension, large 10" tubeless air inflated tires. The Inmotion S1 has two charging ports so if you have two charging bricks you can charge twice as fast. It has an IP Rating IP56 and a max load of 308lbs. I've been riding it around and I'm super impressed with the quality of the ride and range. Two thumbs up for me :)

This review is definitely a mammoth experience, well placed scenes are Victoria. I like the idea of the suspension but you are right that super upright stem and no "trail" leads to really quick handling. Great that the tire plugs works good. I agree that 500 watts can be plenty for anyone, depending on where they ride. Keeping on riding!

Hey Jim, can you explain to this dim rider what you mean by no trail...does it mean the angle of the stem? Cheers :) :)

Great review Tim! Besides the excellent detail about the S1, I loved how you showed plugging the flat tire. What an easy fix! The repair process might be a GREAT step by step “how to” video if you have time.

I decided to replace my inmotion s1 rear tire. Bought a brand new identical wheels, same size and all. And it wouldn't seal. Did absolutely everything. The rim is too deep and makes its wo that the tire doesn't seal. It litterally turned into a 3 month long job. Ended up juet taking it to a shop and getting a solid tire. Should've done it from the start

We've bought two of these and I can't fault them. I am approx 90 kg and it climbs hills with ease where we live. We use them every day and normally use less than half the battery over 20 to 25 miles. They are good value for money and very well made. The app sucks , but you very rarely need to use it.

Great review Tim. Not a fan of the grey and black think it would look better in all black and I think the deck lights are great but they act like indicators but not a fan as u have to lean or turn. Whole point is u indicate before hand on vehicles! But good effort from inmotion. Better manually activated indicators and all black with better charge port covers and this could be the ultimate commuter!

Really appreciate your thoughts on this...I didn't mention the indicators as I didn't' think they were helpful...I almost think indicators should be on the helmet...really bright...maybe one day even on a jacket? could be helpful :)

I don't know if you respond to comments a year later but great review tim! In the vancouver area and the S1F scooter seems like the best option thats provided in the local shops. Slightly hesitant, because you said it wobbles at top speeds, but I hope they fixed that by now. Also, was wondering if you ever ended up doing the hill of death test. I live in New Westminster, so we have very steep hills.

Hello Mehar, I sure do reply to messages...I try and reply to all of them :) I really love the Inmotion and will be doing another video with it soon :) As to the hill of death, I doubt it would make it up...in fact not one single motor scooter has done so and so if you do have steep hills and you're a bigger guy then a dual motor scooter might be a better option :)

Awesome question @bowzerblack, I haven't tried one with a seat but I suspect it would be an odd ride as the handlebars aren't adjustable so your arms would be high up...if that makes sense :)

Hi Tim been watching your videos religiously lately, I'm in Canada, Newfoundland, I'm looking at this scooter, actually I ordered the niu kqi3, but I do door to door sales & I realized that I need higher ip rating then 54 so I canceled the order. Found the l9 as a possible replacement after a while of it seemingly like the only water proof option was the emove cruiser. In any case this seems like better value to me as I really would like something that can also get up hills, so 30% incline is better then 20% with the ninebot and kqi3. In any case, I am probably gonna pull the trigger on this scooter, but I wanted to ask if you had any other suggestions & also wondered if you could clarify, there's like the l9, S1 & s1f, which is confusing not sure which one id ideally need but also, here in Canada I'm not sure about the supplier, Amazon seems to be out, the inmotion website seems to be useless only showing the s1 & and not to purchase directly from. The only site I found was smart wheel for the regular l9 and evees for the s1f and I can't find the S1 to buy. Just not sure what to do to be honest or if I can even trust these providers. Any suggestions?

@@TimsElectric the best scooter of the bunch is the s1f up to 40km which is the mostly identical same specs as the l9 except it's rear wheel drive instead. its also susposed to be able to go up 30 hill slopes which is a big deal to me in st johns. + It's one of few water proofed scooters, I mean the cruiser would probably be better but it's also like 650 bucks more expensive thinking I'm gonna pull the trigger on this s1f, can't see any other contenders, but before I decide I wanna see what 1600 dollars Cad can get me in the electric foldable bike realm... If you could do one thing for me it would be a comparison between e move cruiser and your S1 especially on hill of death.
@TimsElectric
@TimsElectric 2 жыл бұрын
So at the moment I don't have a cruiser ...but want one badly :) However I've been thinking...the Cruiser would be ideal for you for range but the hills, it would depend on your weight. send me an email if you can and I'll reply with my thoughts...another option would be to get a Varla Pegasus ...not the range but plenty of power to conquer the hill of death :) Cheers Tim p.s. I haven't had any single motor scooters make it up the hill of death yet.

@@napoleonbonaparte7692 From watching a lot of the videos on the S1, the S1F can go faster but you lose the torque for better uphill performance. The S1 has slower top speeds but is supposed to be better with the steeper hills. Would have been nice to have seen how it performed on the steeper hills especially as I'm 6'3" and heaver than your average Joe.

nice video 😎 I've just received the latest version of the inmotion S1 they have changed to a single light that isn't a part of the display housing, the bell is integrated into the brake lever, the backlight is brighter, it seems more brutal acceleration, after 19.6 miles still had 45% battery, my lemotion S1 is dead at 19mls, supposed to be the same scooter 🤔

@TimsElectric

Awesome @Eddienet, personally the climber had the power I wanted but the ride (without suspension) was too harsh. The S1 was smooth and had ok power....so of the two...I'd go with the S1 if your town doesn't have big hills....also if you're a heavier guy and need the power (cold weather, steep hills, wanting to keep up with traffic, etc.) but of the two...I would reach for the S1 more than the climber....lastly if you want to step it up a notch then I'd look at the Apollo City (dual motor or single motor)....it eclipses both :)

I love it, your videos are very informative. Unfortunately, I had to find out with my Inmotion S1 that the speed does not quite correspond to reality, because on the one hand a different speed is displayed on Google Map than on the scooter. Not wanting to sound nasty, but the speed doesn't match that of google map. That's why the entire 95 KM long route can chop off, isn't true either. What do you say about the topic.
