Hello, I own this wheel more than month and I did 900km so far. I have Tesla T3 and this wheel feels crazy heavy in comparison. Now I have original V12 power pads (awesome pads and quite cheap) and I absolutely love this wheel. It took me also very long to get used to it, but now oh god it is awesome. The range is great, after 60km I ussually have 25%. The power of the wheel is crazy good (with power pads) I can conquer steep hills 50km/h like nothing. Built quality is another level. I highly recomend to buy power pads, it also protect the wheel. I drop the wheel into 1m deep concrete hole. I was thinking "oh god my wheel is ruined" but there are just minor scratches barelly visible! Comfort is great for me I am using commute mode with 50% sensitivity and 33 PSI (I can go lower probably, I am used to high pressure from my T3 wheel) and with power pads you can easily jump over stones and roots, so much fun :). This wheel has also IPx5 rating - very important for daily commuting. I hope this wheel will last long (there is no fan or suspension so it should be very durable and maintenance free which was my intention) because I want to keep it for a looong time! BTW you have weird rear mudguard, production HT version have much bigger and better one :)

Awesome and thank you for the feedback. Yes this wheel will be great with some side pads. I did also read about the rear mudguard and that its different on the earlier models compared to the latest versions. I think the newer one is a bit wider to protect the rider even more. I am also getting around 40 miles and then I am down to 12%. I had the alert "get off". This wheel is really solid and I can think its going to last a long time. Also with the weather sealing it all helps with keeping the elements out of the wheel. Keep well and many thanks for the comment.

Sherman is a difficult wheel to beat. It has so much to give so many riders and it looks good too.

I've just made my purchase. Hopefully after the weekend I'll have it. I've been riding a V10F for the last 9 months. I have been going crazy considering all the options out there, but I keep coming back to this one in terms of size, capabilities etc. What's making me nervous are the people who report getting bad wheels. I'm really hoping it is a huge minority.

Grats on the new wheel. I think most of the problems are sorted and if you get one now you should be good. It does put some worry in the mind but just take it slow and build the confidence with the wheel. enjoy

I have both HT and HS. I fly on both. I fly in trails, around corners over bumpy terrain. Drop your pedal sensitivity, tire pressure and get new spiked pedals and powerpads. That's it. The wheel feels totally different than stock. I cannot ride it stock.

Awesome thank you for the comment. I did lower the pressure allot but because this was a review unit I did not fit the side pads. I can think with side pads it would make for a different ride. But I just did not gel with the wheel. All the other wheels I just had more fun on. But this is just me. Thanks for the comment and I will have to go and try out a V13.

I noticed that some gyros had very big tires like the 16x which is not far from 18 inches and the s18 where you can install a 20 inch by tampering with the mudguard the result and very good for all roads
@Andre-Mostert
@Andre-Mostert 2 жыл бұрын
This might be a plan on this one but its going to take a bit of trail and error. Its a very stiff tyre compared to the Sherman's tyre and I think that is contributing to the harder ride and more bounce in the small holes in the trail. And then there is that the tyre is a 16inch. Thanks for watching and the comment.

Hi buddy, thanks for another great video. Im still happy I bought my S18 over the V12. That being said I'm looking at ordering another EUC soon probs s22, begode master or the new begode ex2. Only ride trails but ready for a tad more speed lol 😁
@Andre-Mostert
@Andre-Mostert 2 жыл бұрын
Awesome and yes the S18 is still an awesome wheel. It just makes the ride so comfortable that stepping back on a non suspension wheel can be a eye opener. I am also looking at the S22 and have a dep down for is but here in the UK we are waiting and waiting. I was also really keen for the Master as I like the look but I need weather proofing and there are way too many open wires to my liking. My think the same as you is weight, the new wheels are big and heavy. Fun for say open trails but in technical tight trails they are going to need more work.

What set up are you using for your riding shots? Just an iPhone and selfie stick? It all looks great!

Hi Lars, I use a DJI Osmo Action the first gen one that I got on ebay a year ago. They are fairly priced now and really works well. But if you have an iPhone 12 or 13 you can pretty much get the same shots. I did find that a good selfie stick works better than the cheap ones you get, I use the DJI selfie stick that is really solid and easy to use.

Yeah suspension can be a life saver. What tire pressure you running? I hear a lot of people run the v12 tire pressure around 25-35 psi because of the issue you're describing.
@Andre-Mostert
@Andre-Mostert 2 жыл бұрын
I am sitting at 26psi so not very high, the tyre still feels very hard if l compare it to my Sherman tyre that you can really feel when the tyre pressure is at this level. I think its just the build of the tyre. Stable and solid construction.

That is super high. The tyre on the wheel currently does not give much compared to a Sherman tyre and if I run it higher my route to work would rattle my teeth out.

Pena que não tem suspensão isso acaba com os joelhos ainda prefiro o S18 porque o S22 achei muito pesado
@Andre-Mostert
@Andre-Mostert 2 жыл бұрын
I think suspension would make a massive difference to this wheel. For me its too bouncy for my routes I ride. But I think this is due to the wheel size. Where a Sherman's 20 inch tyre just rolls over every small hole the 16inch goes into the hole. But for terrain like that the S18 does shine.

Yes I was just trying to see it out how low I can go to get a softer ride compared to the Sherman tyre or the S18's tyre but the tyre is so solid that it does not give much. Thanks for the feedback.

40 miles with speed like that? That is garbage, i am happy that i have HS, with cruising speed of 38kmh i can easily get to 90-95km range. So what range you get if you ride fast, like 50-55kmh?
@Andre-Mostert
@Andre-Mostert 2 жыл бұрын
Weird man, I was also hoping for more. My route it pretty much the same every day and this is what I get. I can do the 32km round trip twice then I get the beeping at 12% when I get home the second day. I dont have routes around where I live where I can keep a high speed for a long time. I can eek out more if I go slower but that is too slow for me to get to work.

@@Andre-Mostert yeah really weird. Today i did 48km, cruising speed 39-42kmh for about 38km and 10km slower, (app showed trip avg speed 30kmh in the end), i weight 80kg, tire preassure is 2.05bar and from 100% it went down to 52%

This is weird as the wheel I have is stock and I am not a super fast rider. You need to really ride under 30km/h to get that range. Might be that his route is flat and on good roads. Thanks for the feedback.
