Tail lights with 2 lights horizontal to each other are worse then one because in the dark you can look like a car that is far away and therefor get hit when you end up closer then they expect. The stats on motorcycle crashes with 1 tail light vs 2 has quite a decent difference. Really would recommend not having 2 tail lights horizontal to each other.

Though of course trams and trains are the better form of "Self driving" as compared to self driving cars which just try to retroactively turn roads into tram tracks / train tracks. Reminds me of the quote "The marker of a good public transport network is when the wealthy take public transport"... but anyways that's a tangent.

@@jamesordwayultralightpilot Fortnine had a good vid on this. Basically Tesla cameras on autopilot think a motorcycle taillight is a car far away so drive straight over the rider. Teslas used to have radar as well but Elon decided to ditch that. I think he is going to change back, but maybe just because most Chinese competitors offer Lidar and the Chinese love tech. I don't really know (above my pay grade) but this possible reversal could be more a business decision rather than safety. (Elon has stated he feels cameras are better than radar)

@@i_piss_rocks Agreed. I'd like a 14D with a bigger battery and tire. Sort of a cross between the 14 and 16. The 14 is great for what it does but sometimes it is not enough because it limits at 50% battery. Maybe a 2.5 tire with 2170 batteries and 14S firmware so restictions come in at 30% would be a start. A KS 15 so to speak.

I certainly agree with your safety observations. Having head room is one thing, actually riding a highway speeds is Ludacris. Having seen EUCs cartwheeling after accidents, it's just a matter of time until the legal system gets involved.

They already are. Singapore introduced a bunch a few years ago after accidents and fires although I see on youtube EUC still survive there so not sure if lax enforcement or riders with deep pockets. Some Australian states which allowed EUC (and PEVs) a couple years ago now have reviews underway after negative media articles. Such as fires or unhelmeted teenage e-scooter riders knocking down old ladies on footpaths but also ER Drs saying injuries are skyrocketing This again is mainly e-scooter riders. Those small wheels are ridiculous. Today another article in Aussie national press about fires from cheap chinese Li-ion batteries in PEVs. I expect there will be regulation introduced in Australia. They have Australian Design Rules that pretty much everything imported needs to meet. PEVs have slipped under the radar up 'til now. Those days are gone.

UI wish everyone involved in cutoffs sue the companies. It's an easy win. How you simply shuts down a EUC because you reach a certain speed, or certain angle? Slow down, warn it, then stop. But, just to cut it off? Ridiculous.

I really wish someone like Tesla, Honda, Yamaha, Toyota, Kawasaki ect would start making EUC's. So we can have legit quality control and more competition to make these things better than ever! I think the potential is far greater than what we are currently seeking in the market!

you see an example of that on how they deal with catastrophic errors. Like, when voltage, or angles are reach, instead of slowing down, it just shuts down, and drops to a complete stop. Absurd. How can you do that? What vehicle company does that? There is a person riding it and most of the time, fast! They only care about speed, battery, and motors. Safety is way back in their minds. Until somebody gets in and do the common sense part, nobody will. OR, all EUCs owners, and YT reviewers, should just start to suing the companies! Plenty of proof there to bring down every single one of these companies.

I suppose it'll serve as a sort of showcase of what's possible from a technical point of view. I can't wait to see how useable this is in real riding, beyond the youtube testers network and "pro" riders...because at a point and as you said, the Shermax seems better to me from a vehicle point of view. By the time we ride 70kmh+ on roads a motorcycle starts to have more pros than cons to me.

The power to battery capacity ratio is very important for braking. All that kinetic energy has to be stored in the battery, and if the capacity of the battery is too small then the input current has to be restricted, hence less effective braking. I still don't know if they are using super capacitors to absorb the braking inrush current.

Speed motors usually are hard to stop. That's why THAT OTHER COMPANY uses torque motors with high voltage- you get the best of both worlds.

Regarding the pedals, I guess you have some kind of early model because that one have comes with real spikes. Each one can be removed using an small alan key (I just cofirmed to be sure). Maybe something they improved in recent weeks. I got mine a couple of weeks back from alien rides. Still not the best pedals.. but real spikes, and they should be upgrad-able too.

IMO I only want to buy an EUC if it can survive a "wheel abuser" like yourself or even Chooch. If a wheel can't survive a wide barrage of many world circumstances, it isn't ready to be sold to a consumer. Agree with your thought!

You could change the fan in the charger. I changed my scooter charger original fan with a nuctua fan. Its a bit quieter but the pitch of the sound is much less annoying

It’s funny … at the end the way you feel about the v13 is how I’ve been feeling over the last 3 years with Shermans, Gotways and basically all new wheels that youtubers have been reviewing for years now. All while I was riding a 16s and later 18XL. And I’m still riding the 18XL. I don’t have a need to go any faster. Even a Sherman seems like too much wheel … for me. I agree 55mph is too fast for a wheel and i worry it’ll just cause cities to ban them and ruin the fun for everyone. But I feel the same way about a 40mph wheel. Re: headroom … I do understand that. Maybe manufacturers should produce a wheel that can go 50mph and software limit it to tilt back at 30-35.

I agree about not needing 90kph top speed. Some riders have criticized the Sherman S for only being 100V, but my Sherman S has all the power, speed & range I need/want. I don't need any EUC to be faster. I've now put over 1,250km on my Sherman S (with no issues, no maintenance and no repairs) and I've gotten used to its weight, maybe the V13 would be similar where you get used to the weight, but definitely you should think about whether >50kg would be a problem before spending that much money to buy it. I think with practise you should be able to brake quite well on the Sherman S, I find that mine brakes better than my RS or my V12HT. In fact I need to check different settings on the V12HT because it should surely brake much better than mine currently does. I would like to see your full review on the Sherman S and I would love to see you getting some good riding on it and maybe getting to a 1,000km review - I'm still loving my Sherman S and I have no regrets about making that purchase!

Soon leaperkim will release 126v on sherman S tho (look at the new patton). Out of all the excuse that we don’t need high voltage, actually it is a reason why EX30 brakes far better than Sherman S. High torque motor + high voltage = better brake. No doubt about it

It was sent to Chooch and he is certainly as rigorous as Adam is, though in a different way. And yes, smaller, lighter wheel, even with 100V can feel a lot zippier than some of these big tanks. Being the heaviest wheel is certainly not something to brag about.

I've got some thoughts about your conclusion. In the US, the speed is definitely appreciated since some of the roads here can be going 30-40mph and the larger tire makes it more stable at those speeds. Regarding the price, I've been thinking that perhaps wheels were actually too cheap, and the v13's price should be the norm. Sounds a little insane, but if we want EUCs to have the safety features we've been asking for, perhaps the price has to go up? The "smart" BMS we do get from inmotion and KS still don't have active balancing for example, can't change the voltage imbalance limit, can't do anything with the BMS. We still don't have UL certified wheels waterproofing on most wheels are still not good, the chargers in the box are still cheap stuff that fails pretty often, etc.

I can see a market for a motocross bike that doesn't need a trailer and shed for storage, its awesome as that. The concern is that an EUC like this will force regulations that limit or license all EUCs just cause the pushed the boundary into motorcycle terrority that can go on bike lanes, it just gonna take one numnut to go 90km/h past a lady in a stroller on a walking path for laws to have to change. Great to see a company push the limits on tech and can always get toned down from here with this tech to trickle into smaller wheels.

Agreed so much with your 'top speed' point: this is just unnecessary at the very minimum and dangerous as for the rider himself, as for people around. Also we as the end-users of the product are paying for all these extras. As for my humble personal opinion, these needs to be pronounced so much more (across all eucs, ofc): - safety: good lights in particular. Front -- bright and adjustable (maybe even motorized to compensate the lean), rear -- big and bright enough to be seen from the distance and even if covered in dust/mud; good and grippy tire; - safety in terms of reliability: as from software POV, as electronical, as electrical, as mechanical. Bolts of steel, not silumin. Threads of steel. Inmotion are fine, AFAIK, but still. - repairability: maintenance to be cheap and easy (e.g. struggled so much with my v11, while pumping those shocks with inmotion-branded pump due to their screw-on pump head); - range over speed: i feel. like 50 kmph is a sweet spot for an euc. But having the possibility to ride 200-300 km on a single charge is so much more valuable. IMHO, ofc.

Entry level bike is 1000-1500 tops. You're gonna drop it. You'll probably hit a deer. Don't waste money on a new bike to start riding. They go on sale every fall, just start shopping then. Sell in the spring, you get more money.

I feel like these companies take all the design and innovation that goes into current sidepads and just throw it out the window. Instead, they give us the worst most uncomfortable pads with no toe pucks and tell us it comes with pads in the description like it's worth more with them.

This is a racing wheel and as such should be used on racing tracks not public roads, Too big and too heavy for daily commute. Inmotion should invest in improving V11 make it 100V , this is the best wheel theyhave ever produced.

It isn’t a wheel for acrobatics. It’s a wonderful stable cruiser, with super technology, that could easily replace a car except that it’s got a lean 3000Wh battery (why why why 🥺😢😭) that probably won’t let it go fully loaded from town to town. At a dollar per watt-hour, it’s supposed to cost $3000. If it wasn’t for the lack of “juice”, this wheel could have easily knocked the Master Pro out of the park … forever.

There a few other advantages with the MasPro. It's way more comfortable stock. The ability to upgrade the shock. The power is instantaneous- thru out the entire power band, and it's far more difficult to cut out, and FAR better brakes.

For city riding this wheel doesn't make much sense. If you have a long commute to a city or live in more rural areas then this wheel can make a lot of sense. American riders definitely crave speed. Maybe it's because distances are further in the US. But I'm finding myself more and more isolated from group rides because there's a cohort that just wants to ride fast on the streets and riding 50mph on a street has never really interested me. I like EUCs for being able to go places and explore areas that you can't with other vehicles. If I want to ride fast on a plain street them I might as well just get in my car... However going around competing with cars riding fast on the road is just not a great direction for the sport to go in. When cars and EUCs clash, the car is always going to win. I literally had a friend get hit by an SUV. And the more we get in the way of cars eventually authorities are going to start requiring licensing, registration, etc.

My 2cents about speed. I have 84v msx and master. Msx ise very good in city, but i live countryside, bought master because its speed and stability on higher speeds. I can ride my msx 50km/h, but its a lot more dangerous than doing it on my master. Other point is-everybody is not riding them in cities, its safer to be faster or as fast than other vehicles, not slower- the slower u are, the more passings u get, dangerous moments everywhere and all the time. Now u tell me, why u take euc on higway or fast road sides-because i go to city, i have enough range and speed to do so and in city i have almost all the conveniences that euc's have...I commute with master and fool around with msx. If they make me wheel, which is about 25kg heavy, range is 100km with 50km/h average speed and desent lights and rear view mirror built in, then i would be happy. Until then i ride, what i have. I like v13, i would own one, too expensive now, the heaviness is not so big problem, it has plusses too, u get more stability at higher speeds. Biggest problem with new wheels-u cat test temp properly before buying, need to rely on other opinions and those others are usually kinda professionals...Not only americans love highspeed wheels, greeting from Estonia.

You are right though, I ride the master now for offroad performance, in my town with not a single bike lane where I have to ride in the car traffic I don't have any place to go over 60kph for more then few seconds really. Even if I would go on some speed way out of town and went full speed car drivers who plan on going 120kph will take a full lane to take me over.

This wheel is a joke to me All that weight (that inmotion proudly bragged about in their promo🤦‍♂️) and scalping price but still has crappy range It's like they made a monster truck but put in the gas tank from a Hyundai Excel

i really want to like this wheel but can't. the size and weight makes it impractical. the suspension is lame. there are just too many things that could go wrong and the adjustment feedback (none) is ridiculous. the pedals, like you say, will become less grippy with time and then what? and the pads. are they not paying any attention at all to the euc community? they're still using sticky tape? i like the wheel's general appearance, and the electrical system is top shelf (maybe, we'll see), but that's about it. i'll stick with my shermax.

I'm not feeling you're remaining very neutral anymore. My take away is the tail lights and pedals aren't as good as specialised after-market components you've put on your Sherman. Followed by a near rant about it going 90kph. You used to focus on developing the community and safety, but this video does feel like a dig at Inmotion.

Hopefully one day you will stop with passive cell balancing nonsense and apologize to Inmotion. Anyway I kind aagree with you, this wheel is nonsense, too heavy, big and still so little range. I love my V12HT, Begode Tesla T3 - that are practical EUC's. BTW I hope you will do some proper review of the Shermax :).

Of course you are going to push the limits of the wheel. If you didn't there wouldn't really be a lot of point sending it to you. As a buyer if you don't break it, then I'm very unlikely too. I mean anyone can ride it around like a lamb. Your not out to wreck their wheel to be sure, but you are pushing the envelope of what it is capable of, and should be able to survive in all honesty. Blue nails?
