I know you have said that you don't sell your work.... (I am a woodworker and I have made hundreds of pieces over the years for family and friends.... can't bring myself to sell them!)..... BUT you are SO talented Mr Inmyshed, that you have a career here as a high-end, custom knife maker. You are on a par with Tony Bose (may he rest in peace) in my opinion. Anyway, just keep doing what you do best mate.... and if you ever feel like selling that "sodbuster" type slipjoint.... let me know!

Not sure if you will be able to remember now as it’s been awhile since making the video, but could you tell us the thicknesses of the metals you used for the blade, liners, and bolsters?

I feel a bit silly for asking so long after the video upload - but doesn't sanding down the peened pins negate the peening? Or does the process allow enough bulge in the material to allow the pins to hold everything despite the peened head being sanded away?
@Inmyshed8 ай бұрын
Hi! the holes are chamfered, so when the pins are peened, they expand into the chamfer on both sides, creating a strong mechanical bond.

Hi! Thanks! Can u tell me what you think is bad with the shooting and camera?
@Dani_-ec4is11 ай бұрын
@@Inmyshedи It was taken from very close - the field of view is small. Lack of focus - bad camera. Speed x20 ... it is not at all clear what and why you are doing. Low sound. The shots are dark - shooting from close and bad camera, lack of lighting. Incorrect camera perspective - the viewer is confused about what he is looking at, it looks like a "horror train". ... 🤷🏻♂️

Lovely looking knife and skilfully made. I'm moving off of fixed blades and I looking to make my first folder. I'm in the UK, so no locking blades and 3 inch maximum blade lengths (punishment for running riot around the world with swords I guess). Your pattern will help start me off. Many thanks.

Beautiful knife in a very useful size. I see the blade has jimping, which is somehow a requirement these days. I can't wait for that fad to die out.
@Inmyshed11 ай бұрын
Hi! Thank you! Why do you not like it? It does give some extra traction to you thumb.
@meaninglessname12311 ай бұрын
Your jimping was very tastefully done. I actually don't mind it on your knife. I guess I am reacting against jimping in general, as I feel it doesn't add much to the functionality of a knife, some makers are putting big, tacky looking and uncomfortable saw teeth on the spine of their knives, and it makes the blade harder to wipe clean after use. I think a knife is generally more elegant without it.
