About IBS Treatment Center
===========================
Dr. Stephen Wangen, co-founder and Medical Director of the IBS Treatment Center, and his staff have successfully helped over 10,000 people resolve irritable bowel syndrome and chronic digestive problems since 2005.
Some patients have had IBS symptoms so severe that they spent a considerable amount of time in the hospital. Others are suffering alone at home and are no less frustrated with the impact that it is having on their lives. The thread that tied them all together was that they had never seen an IBS expert (much different than a gastroenterologist), a doctor whose only mission is to help people solve IBS.
Patients work with us from around the country and the world via our telemedicine services. Get back your life! Work with us via telemedicine. Visit the IBS Specialists at ibstreatmentce...

One of the best videos on this topic I have seen. Loperamide seems to be the "go to" script for this diagnosis. While it does help, I found for me, with microscopic colitis, Greek Yogurt greatly helps me climbing up the Bristol Stool scale.

I appreciate the hope. My mom who’s 80 has been dealing with this for almost 2 years (with no previous digestive issues history). She’s had chronic diarrhea for the last month and has lost a ton of weight and I’m very very very worried. Biopsies didn’t show anything. She’s working with a specialist. I’m seeing her today and I wonder if she should be hospitalized. Specialist keeps running tests but in the meantime she’s withering away right before our eyes.

I'm sorry about that. I hope that they can help. Unfortunately, this type of story is far too common, and gastroenterologists and hospitals often have no idea about what the cause it. But at least they can give her an IV and stabilize her. We'd be happy to work with her, and work with many people that age.

I am very confused about the following and would appreciate clarification: 1. You said the difference between IBS and colitis is that there is inflammation in the colon with colitis. Then later you said inflammation can also happen with IBS? Can you explain what you meant? 2. Do you treat Inflammatory Bowel Disease, such as lymphocytic colitis? Just wondered since the name of your clinic is IBS only? I also got diagnosed with EPI. 3. I need to watch more of your videos but it sounds like your main theory is that foods are causing this all GI issues. Is that correct? Thank you
@IBSTreatmentCenter
@IBSTreatmentCenter 10 күн бұрын
Good question. Be careful to distinguish between general colitis, which is often used for IBS, and the other forms of colitis, such as ulcerative colitis. They all involve some form of inflammation, but with many forms of colitis it's visible during the colonoscopy, whereas it's not in IBS. We certainly do work with people with IBD and would be happy to work with you. There are many many issues that cause GI problems. Some of them are foods, but many are not. As you know, EPI is one of those. And there are hundreds of others.

Hello, I have some questions, I would be very happy if you answer them. In my pathology report: Slight increase in ascending colon sections, colon mucosa samples, surface epithelium and crypt epithelium. Lymphocyte entry is monitored. With trichrome, there is a slight increase in collagen in the subepithelial region. No additional findings regarding mucin were found. Although the findings are 'partial' support, if they are clinically compatible, it can be considered collagenous colitis. What exactly does this mean? Everywhere I went, IBS was accompanied by stools, sometimes solid and sometimes liquid. My questions are: Is this an autoimmune disease? Is there a margin of error in pathology? I recently had gastroenteritis and e.coli was detected. Calprotectin is low. Does microscopic colitis appear and disappear or increase due to this? I would be grateful if you could answer me. There are so few resources and so little information.

Wow. Great questions. Unfortunately this is all way too involved to properly address here. Even e. coli is super complicated. However, I don't believe that microscopic colitis is ever thought of as an autoimmune condition, and it can come and go. And regardless, the pathology report is primarily only useful for creating a diagnosis, but it doesn't really help you get to the bottom of the problem. But we'd be happy to work with you. I hope that this response helps at least a little.
