I really enjoyed watching your garden tour, starting with what you still gave growing in the basement. Your greenhouse is very nice. My citrus trees were loaded like yours. They usually drop the fruit it can’t handle. I especially like the small galvanized garden beds. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that size before. Your gardening area is huge. Thanks Lady Cheryl. I may wait to see if ours drop fruit then. On our apples and pears, we have to prune the young trees to avoid branches splitting and to get good sized remaining fruit.

Thanks Brother Sid. We are attacking the weeds again this weekend and moving plants out to harden off. Our nighttime temps are staying around 50 F or higher so we'll get out sweet potatoes, ube, turmeric and ginger out finally.

Wow! You are so ahead of me! I haven't done much in my garden. I planted seeds a couple of weeks ago to not lose the habit of growing my own seedlings. Wow, you have so many tropical trees! And they are doing so well. I wish I could grow cassava. I agree that having too many blooms is a good problem to have. Good luck in your herbs garden. The good thing about herbs it is that when they take off its almost impossible to kill them. Have a blessed day, my friend!

Your garden is off to an awesome start ! It seems when we plant a bunch of leafy greens we never eat that many of them . We have been planting our tomatoes and peppers because the weather looks clear . Thanks for sharing and have a great weekend !

I enjoyed eating my artichokes this past winter. I'm not surprised to see them back again but I'm surprised there are so many of them. Your homestead is a complete example of a homestead. That herb garden close to the kitchen is truly an excellent idea. You did not mention that yuca....is that yuca after you mentioned moringa. With large palmate leaves

Thank you! Yes, that is the yuca/cassava, next to the moringa. We'll be transplanted it outside soon. Our nighttime temperatures are warm enough to get the rest of the tropical plants outside. We love growing as many herbs as we can, both for cooking and as treats for our chickens. We definitely like to consider our place as a small homestead.

Your lavender makes it through the snow or it is new? We got a rare week of snow. My lavender is pretty dead looking. I assumed it was the odd cold we had. Herbs close the the house is great.

We had a very mild Winter this year but it reseeds itself too. We plan to do better at spacing herbs all throughout the garden.

Rob, where did you purchase the large white garden hoops?

Those are PVC tubing we purchased at Lowes. Very affordable and long lasting. Very easy to cut to whatever size you need for your garden beds.

Once you fertilize your citrus, they will get dark green. So sad that they get so full of fruit and most has to cone off !
