I just got out of the psych ward.. for the prob 30th time.. while on the inside, me n some other patients were talking in group, the facilitator asked when was the first time we wound up there... first patient says "2016", next says "2009", another says "2013", i chime in, state "1999, youth ward". The patients all stare in amazement ooohing and aaahing, and one says "whoooa dude, pre Y2K?" I nod.. the facilitator then asks how many years we've been seeking counseling.. one lady says "13 years", another says "21 years" another states "12 months" the counselor looks at me, and i say "37 years". She then says "you dont even look 37 years old. How old are you?" I say "39". Again, patients ooh and ahh.. She then asks "does anyone mind sharing their diagnoses with the group?" A few state "depression and anxiety" "bipolar" etc.. finally its my turn to speak up.. "First in '93, i was diagnosed with ADHD, then in '99, manic depression and anxiety, then in 2004, PTSD, then in 2016 schizophrenia and Borderline personality disorder and in 2023 schizophrenia was bumped up to schizoaffective disorder, which is basically schizo with a mood disorder.. ('moody schizophrenia', as i like to call it... lol) and finally, in 2024 C-PTSD" Again, the patients all ooh and aaah like im some sort of mental trauma mess Goddess... lmao.. oh, the silliness of insanity... Glad to finally be outta the puzzle factory... again... hopefully, the head shrinkers👨‍⚕️ put a few more pieces 🧩 in place... your statement that we are all doing a good job existing really hit me in the head 🧠 and the headache 🤯 and the heart ❤️ and the heartache 💔.. thank you, youre doing a good job helping us exist. The world 🌍🌎🌏 needs more human lovers and encouragers 📣 just like you 🫵🏽! Keep doing a magical ✨️ job👍🏽 helping those of us clinging on for dear life to maintain our grip on existence and find our way through the maze 🧭🗺... 🫶🏽 🤟🏽🤘🏽🪬🪄 Namaste 🙏🏽💪🏽 my good friend!
