Brilliant movie, always loved it. Sam Cooke is a very underrated artist (in the UK anyway) and doesn't get anywhere near the play time on Radio Stations than other Soul artists of that generation, in fact I don't think I've even heard this song on a UK radio station - well general Commercial Stations anyway, but you will get Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye, James Brown etc etc all the time

2024, and this flick is a live; and it will live forever. It's unbelievable that it didn't do well in theatres at the time.
@francescathomas35022 ай бұрын
Its dated 1987. There were tons of other movies that came out in 1986 and 1987. 4 of the biggest movies at that time were Top Gun, Dirty Dancing, Speed and I think the Star Trek 4 movie also came out around this time. The Voyage Home - when the star trek crew went back in time to San Francisco to find 2 humpback whales named george and gracie? Have you seen these movies? Inner Space had some really tough competition!!!
@chirola99232 ай бұрын
@@francescathomas3502 'Star trek 4': I don't know whether I've seen it or not. I'm not a fan of the saga (excluding the modern reboot). Anyway; I consider them (again: excluding the reboot) kind of B (or tv movies) - no offense meant; just mention it in terms of competition. 'Speed'? I can't recall any 1986/87 movie with that title. 'Dirty Dancing': I know it, and I know it was a success; but I won't ever watch it. Nevertheless; I think it belongs to such a different genre
@chirola99232 ай бұрын
@@francescathomas3502 'Top Gun'. I didn't like it at all; but I concede is though competition
@chirola99232 ай бұрын
@@francescathomas3502 By the way: you forgot to mention 'Predator'; maybe the best action science/fiction movie ever made. It is the only one of the above mentioned that I watched at the movie theater at first release. I was 10 years old. Hey! I also went to watch 'Aliens' that same year as it premiered. At least here in Uruguay; I'm pretty sure it was released the same year. Different times : currently, movies are released simultaneously around the globe. Anyway; you are right: there was too much competition.. I miss that days
