Very interesting podcast and guest. Dan's portrayal of the Long Kesh's prison guards seems to miss the point, however, that Seamus Kearney made on a previous podcast, which was that Albert Miles was incentivizing guards to "break Republicans." As Kearney, and others note, such a command came from higher places in the British cabinet.

2 fellows got life for murder in the South of Ireland ( Free State) Both were inocent .One from Cork @ 1 from Monahan .Aiso there were a no of fellows done for membership from Droheda in 1974 All done by So called Special Crimnal Court. To quote Myles Shevlin to me at that Court ( You come here to be sentenced not to be tried.

A statement from a garda superintendent regarding membership was enough " evidence" to get you locked up, 3 years.

I’ve always wondered what would happen if all the cases were reopened and investigated again using todays technology and DNA testing 🧐

Book dropped yesterday; halfway through. Recommended . Didn't realise he wasn't in the IRA until this podcast. Riding a bike with a womans cardigan on into a RUC roadblock worth the price of admission on its own...

For anyone who has read the book and knows Belfast republicanism, it leaves one with a number of questions. That’s all I’ll say. Everyone knows what ace was, everyone also knows what type of person drinks in the felons

Though he is innocent with many others his name makes people think the patriot republican martyr Kevin Barry same name although he’s innocent like many republicans in castlereagh conver belt

This sounds like a few Belfast myths bolted together to create a fictional book tbh.
