I am 78 years of age and must walk with a walker. Bus drivers do not give me time to be seated before stating out to the next stop, causing me to almost fall. Bus drivers are more concerned about getting paid than are about the safety and well being of the passengers that they carry. Mayor Bass, if you want bus ridership to increase, than train your bus drivers to be more respectful of the passengers that they Carry.

Possibly, if someone else with a gun (lawful patriot citizen) was on that bus, the situation would have ended earlier, and maybe no one but the gunman would have been dead or just injured!

They would have charged the good Samaritan. They charged a guy and confiscated his gun when he opened fire on 2 armed robbers that tried to rob him in his own driveway in LA. All caught on ring. Idk if it's good that he missed cuz the state only charges law abiding citizens...ps the guy did have his license to carry.

I have been riding Metro buses since Oct, 2008 and never knew that the overhead bill board on the buses could display the 911 call Police message. Had not seen the news cast regarding this incident, I would thought that message was a hochs.

Mayor Bass, if want to increase bus ridership, than you need to buy bus with larger seats. City Buses are too few and far between, often too crowded, and very uncomfortable to ride. The only way that you are going to learn how to increase ridership is for you to ride the buses yourself. All of you City and County leaders need to ride city buses, so that you get a clear understanding why employed persons will risk being homeless before not owning a car.

Our city and county leaders need to make buses safer. There is a need for more room for wheel chair riders. Only very elderly, handy caped persons, and Mothers with children under the age of 6 years should be allowed to board using the front door. And there needs to be a barrier to prevent the young and healthy people from entering the handy caped section of the bus. Young and healthy persons must board the bus using the rear door.
