I have backyard neighbors who, for 25 years, have called the cops on our dogs every time they hear ANY dog barking. They've done it when our dogs were 30 miles away. They've done it when we had no dogs. Most recently they called the cops because we were "abusing" our Husky by allowing her outside in hot weather. (I told the cop that, unlike the neighbors, I have actually been to Siberia in the summer....and it's miserably hot. The dogs don't just self-destruct in the summer. She's just fine.) In the meantime they video record our every move. They tried to block our installation of solar panels by complaining to the HOA, but found out the law in our state prohibits an HOA from interfering with that. Hateful, vicious old coots with nothing to do....and apparently they're immortal too because they were retired 25 years ago.

When people do something that I don't like I try to blow off my steam in my home in private talking to my partner but not like gossiping either you know? Talking about my feelings more like. Then I can not let them bother me or get to me and turns out those people end up being nice later or it was a total misunderstanding or maybe they never are nice but then they also never get worse either or never get deep into our business of our lives. We don't let them in. You know? Don't let them get to you...don't let them ruin your day or upset you that much. We have our slip ups and cry sometimes but not for too long. Dust myself off and move on as fast as possible though but I try not to have it happen too often of a slip up or I fall apart and can't function for my family and my kids. But I end up leading a more positive life and it brings in more positive people to us like you're sort of saying. You give positivity and you just may get it back. Don't expect it but it's a possibility at least. I'm happy for you and please don't ever stop.
