Team Darkmode really wanted every "advantage" they could get. To force west cost plus choosing Junkertown and they still only barely beat them. Team 321 Nano deserved that win. (And ML and Yazan were playing throughout the night at a high level with no sleep till moring 6-7 a.m, I couldn’t do that)

@@srikrishnabhat6793 Well, Junkertown is a Map that is wide open, so it favors sniper characters and Hitscan in general. ML's Team strongest comp is the Pharmercy + Ana comp (because they have the #1 Pharah player Yznsa). So Junkertown is one of the worst maps when it comes to pharmercy at least on the first point, because there is no cover and you are in the open if you fly up in the air.

Regardless of the performance of the first team mL7's team played against, the preparation and strats that a team of master players and below prepare could very easily crumble under the efforts of GM+ players, making them look like idiots under the untrained eyes of a gold player.

The current matchmaking system is actually quite fair, because it pairs up people of the same MMR on the role they queued on, regardless of the other team members who are also paired up themselves. It's not like your team full of 5 golds is put against 5 diamond/master players. That will NEVER happen in ranked matchmaking, but will happen on custom lobbies such as these tournaments.

Why is the ping counter pickable. The server always be a compromise set by the organizers. As a viewer, I don't have the pressure of winning the money so I don't need to care who has the advantage. I just want to see the highest level of play with fairness for both teams to determine who is truly the best in the tournament.

I only started playing Overwatch for the first time last week and I dont even really know what I should be doing half the time when it comes to advancing or retreating or where to hold off the enemy or whatever.

dude, of course it seems impossible right now. you literally just started playing the game. overwatch is insanely complex, you have to know everything about every ability in order to know what to do when your team uses that ability and when the enemy does. it's a lot of information to learn and keep straight in your head. you can't expect yourself to be anything EXCEPT lost as fuck right now because that's such an unfair expectation. you need to gain experience with the game first before you can start to predict and track things. if you dedicate yourself to the game and spend time intentionally practicing and reviewing your replays, you will develop game sense over time. but it takes time. be patient with yourself and focus on having fun and learning all the different heroes so you can decide what you want to focus on, that should be your priority right now ☺️

it's totally understandable that it feels that way! this is how tournaments are done, not just in ow but for all sports and stuff. in the first few matches, the highest ranked teams are matched against the lowest ranked teams so that the final match is between two teams of roughly equal skill. it feels unfair but everyone is aware of this when they sign up so it's not some kind of cruel surprise, thankfully
