Tie-wraps will only last about 1 year. UV light makes them brittle. Use #12 solid copper as a twist tie.

Got a question how tall was the steel beam used to to slip the tower over 10 foot ?

This is awesome. Is there a way to build one of these towers?

Uh...you just saw it done! Or did you mean the support? Dimensions would not be critical. Any welding shop could build that in a day or less with just a picture to guide them, and dimensions on a Rohn 25 tower. My question is stability. There must not be any wind where that's installed. Something like that would last about 1/2 of a good storm here in the Ozarks. What I'd like to know is why they climbed it after it was up. The whole point of a tiltover tower is so you can bring the work to ground level. Heck, one man could have set 50' of tower with that bucket truck, or even done the installation at the top with it. Absolutely no reason to have climbed that tower. Nothing about this video is safe, or smart.

Looks like another company got into the wireless game with little knowledge. Tie-wraps are for temporary installs. Could of used metal tie-wraps. The point to point dish is to close to ground. Will have interference from ground refletions. Also a big truck could block link. Instead of using flex counxuit, just use rigid conduit with metal stand-offs. No one should climb a tower held down with concrete blocks that is that high. Looks like climber was scared. He looks like he was making love to tower. I see installations like this all the time. So sad no one wants to learn how to do it correct. Was there even grounding done on tower? You all tried your best.

That stand is temporary only, far from stable. Put hole in ground, fill with concrete and rebar. 30' height is SFA for a PtMP setup and as pointed out, the backhaul gear too close to ground.

all that good work and they go very cheap, on cheap plastic wire ties. even using the wire out of regular house cabling is far better. but i like your temp stand.

Too much weight on head to tilt up....
@WW5RM Жыл бұрын
@@bentheguru4986 please! Those little antennas don't weigh crap! If it was a 10 Meter or larger vertical yeah. The main reason for tilt over is so you don't have to climb it! All they had to do was sit the top end on a step ladder, install the antennas and both of them pull it up! Done! We just built a hinge base and 20ft support structure for 60ft of Rohn 25 with 10 ft stinger for a 20 plus foot vertical 11M antenna! Thats 90ft total length. Yeah we used a hand winch to raise it but they could do the same and remove the winch if they needed to. Way to many people have died climbing towers when they didn't have to!

@@WW5RM I remember why I ditched my amature ticket many years ago, too many opinions. Stick to your HF and leave microwave to others. The guys barely had enough weight to stand it, extra 20 kilos of gear on head was going to be a no-go. The whole setup is not a real great option, just a PR video.
