How do you clean the feed side plates? Maintenance is expensive. What is the specific energy consumption to evaporate 1 ton of water?

Outside preheating plates could be easily dismantled. But plates inside the shell are truly hard to perform cleaning. I think the plates inside are not placed so close as it seems in the video, which is a small model, to make them bear long time. CIP may also use for that but should be designed with in place spray nozzle pipe, or it will consume too much chemical.

CIP is only my guess. Anyway, this design aimed a smaller footprint, so some disadvantages will have to be accepted. But may an outside plate heat exchanger placed on top may perform similar small footprint?
