Great list and I agree with pretty much everything you've said about Inquisition. I think Dagon is one of the few people that truly understands what the Black Metal spirit is and how to create its aural power. Don't know if you watched it but Rauta did a fantastic in depth two part interview with Dagon some time ago. Paul

Agreed with your number one! I was rubbing my hands when this video came out! Such an amazing band! The artwork is also among the best if not the best of any bands! What’s the most crazy fact about this band is that it’s only a guitar and drums! The sounds they are able to produce with just those two and unique vocals by D is unmatched!

The first time I ever listened to this band was way back in January of 2014. I downloaded the Ominous Doctrines album onto my iPod and decided to go for a walk at around 1AM. New York State had just had a snow storm so I was tromping around in deep snow while listening to that album. It was a very special feeling and I've been a fan ever since. I had a similar experience when I was driving at around 2AM last year through dense fog while listening to "Enter The Moonlight Gate" by Lord Belial, especially the part when the female vocals come in. Kinda gave me goosebumps.

Every time I watch a video I'm thinking about old favorites I haven't heard in a long time and get excited to hear them again based off your excitement. Then a new video comes out and I'm like, "NOOO!!! I haven't finished re-listening to all the great albums from the last video. Now I have a whole new list of albums to add to the list." Then the process keeps repeating and the list gets progressively longer.

i first heard inquisition in 2010 love every one of their albums in fact i played nefarious dismal orations the title track in my catholic junior school in norwich england cause the class had free time during religious education lol funny memories

Yeah, man. I also love "Into the Infernal Regions of the Ancient Cult", it has such a unique touch. This album sounds a bit different from most Inquisition albuns, I think that's the reason a lot of people don't find this album as interesting as the others. But shame on them! This album fucking rules!

I’m just getting into this band. I heard the newest album and love it. It’s been hard for me to find new black metal bands that hook me. Imperium Dekadenz, Revenge, and Prison of Mirrors are newer bands that I discovered that I really like. Any other suggestions ?

Bloodshed would be my personal favorite but the only thing that kinda bothers me is that you didn't used the original cover art for some of the early albums. Really don't like the new ones it's also quite hard to still find cd's printed with the old art.

Why does everybody love Ominous Doctrines so much? The drums are triggered to hell, the sound is compressed and hard to decipher, it's full of filler (Upon the Fire Winged Demon, etc)... Just sounds like a less good, albeit more expensively produced version of the album before it to me.
