Great option for someone of modest means who is getting into defensive carry. Being able to afford a case of ammo or proper training is huge, too many people blow their budget on a gun and can't afford to actually shoot it.

The Derya company has been around for decades and usually makes very high quality offerings, especially their shotguns. As someone who will almost certainly never get to do a brutality match, I would love to see "Budget Brutality", set a division price cap for your loadout and ammo. Gun quality vs Ammo Quality vs. Having a sight balance. Most valuable skill is dealing with malfunctions.
@Omniprong
@Omniprong 4 сағат бұрын
It would be extra fun, if not necessarily practical, if they implemented the same rule that they have at Finnish budget car races: after the competition, any competitor can offer to buy any other competitor's gear at whatever price the cap is set at, and the person must accept and sell it to them at that price. Keeps people from getting too attached, and it's a nice check against people sneakily trying to circumvent the price cap. You spent more than you were allowed? Better be prepared to sell your gear at a loss.

We Shoot range and gun shop had this Rock Island Armory DY9 a couple of months ago for $199. I checked it out and liked everything about it. I was filming content in their studio and convinced their media guy to purchase it. We were hosting my 2nd is For Everyone: Diversity Shoot, and he put it on the range for us to shoot. It's a Glock 19 with more features than a stock Gen 5 Glock 19. I filmed at WE SHOOT again today. I had my Gen 2 Glock 19, a Gen 5 Glock 19, the Rost Martin RM1C, the Ruger RXM and the RIA DY9. Every gun matched or bested the Gen 5 Glock for features except my Gen 2. At this point, why would I purchase a Gen 5 Glock 19? Service life is the only question that's unknown with these modern copies.

Magazine interchangeability with a major market leader is a factor not to be overlooked. Particularly if you're looking at a gun to whose supply might get cut off *overnight* for reasons of international politics or domestic economics. Sounds like if the Turkish supply dried up the day after you bought this, you'd be able to keep it going with Glock aftermarket parts if you had to.

This makes me wish I had a time machine so I could make purchases now and send them back to whenever I was strapped for cash, or so I could stock up on them whenever I had the cash, but these didn't exist.

How many companies make 1911 clones? With prices all over the place. Why should the Glock be any different. It's a very popular handgun.
