Seeing "Turglocken" in the Title made me, a German laugh! Working as Historian for the "Institute of Contemporary German History" in Munich, i know all about German Lastnames and for those curious the Last Name "Glock" originates from "Glocke" which is German for "Bell". When German People (from anywhere) had to adopt Family Names many got Names regarding their Profession So People with the Family Name "Glock" were People who were responsible to ring the Bells in a Church Great to see a Peasant Job Family like "Glock" end up creating one of the most popular Handguns of all Time Prost & Cheers from Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps

Great option for someone of modest means who is getting into defensive carry. Being able to afford a case of ammo or proper training is huge, too many people blow their budget on a gun and can't afford to actually shoot it.

The Derya company has been around for decades and usually makes very high quality offerings, especially their shotguns. They are definitely one of the exceptions to the rule that Turkey guns are garbage. I have a Lion X4 semi auto 12ga that has seen many rounds over 12 years or so without any failure or breakages of any kind. Good stuff.

When it comes to commercial turkish firearms either its at top end or bottom end there is nothing between those two Either you will get something satistifying (not the best possible but one that is cost-effective and reliable) or an absolute garbage that has less reliability than a nerf gun ( especially hunting shotgun abominations )

As someone who will almost certainly never get to do a brutality match, I would love to see "Budget Brutality", set a division price cap for your loadout and ammo. Gun quality vs Ammo Quality vs. Having a sight balance. Most valuable skill is dealing with malfunctions.

It would be extra fun, if not necessarily practical, if they implemented the same rule that they have at Finnish budget car races: after the competition, any competitor can offer to buy any other competitor's gear at whatever price the cap is set at, and the person must accept and sell it to them at that price. Keeps people from getting too attached, and it's a nice check against people sneakily trying to circumvent the price cap. You spent more than you were allowed? Better be prepared to sell your gear at a loss.

You can buy a complete dagger for this 350. And it comes with a warranty. Or a complete GG. You can build a great mid grade Glock for like 300 bucks. Grit grips or PSA frame for like 75 average, live free, PSA, hooper gun works, any eBay slide for around 200 bucks complete, mags andnsoke ammo lol.

I remember getting the first canik, I was blown away by the walther clone, so much that I didn’t bother with glocks anymore, this also blows away the Glock , the trigger everything, the Turks make some fine firearms no doubt, just wish we could’ve gotten that canik in 40 that was never released in America or even better a Glock 40 clone in 10mm, yes!

Look at the grit Grips frames. They really are the best we have for an aftermarket frame for under 200 bucks. Triggers firm and crispy while still staying around 5lbs, and the texture is so grippy you could coat your hands in grease and it still wouldn't slip.

We Shoot range and gun shop had this Rock Island Armory DY9 a couple of months ago for $199. I checked it out and liked everything about it. I was filming content in their studio and convinced their media guy to purchase it. We were hosting my 2nd is For Everyone: Diversity Shoot, and he put it on the range for us to shoot. It's a Glock 19 with more features than a stock Gen 5 Glock 19. I filmed at WE SHOOT again today. I had my Gen 2 Glock 19, a Gen 5 Glock 19, the Rost Martin RM1C, the Ruger RXM and the RIA DY9. Every gun matched or bested the Gen 5 Glock for features except my Gen 2. At this point, why would I purchase a Gen 5 Glock 19? Service life is the only question that's unknown with these modern copies.

Agreed, even Hi points are near $200 after taxes and fees at most gun stores nowadays. Contrary to what many say hi points are generally reliable but there's not much of a good reason or excuse to buy one anymore even if you're on a shoestring budget.

Many of the clones have better ergonomics along with the lower price. Sights for sure are better on this clone than the real deal Glocks.

350 got me a Leo. Nothing wrong with that. I also have the RPX9 and the Rugpul rxm. Many choices but a Leo Glock is a tank and an actual Glock. Can't go wrong either way

@Barikade I only have a PSA dagger but it has functioned flawless. I carry a m&p 45 shield in the summer and a m&p 9c when hoodies or jackets can be worn. I found the triggers on my m&p to be fat better than any factory Glock. Only carry pistols with manual safeties because that is what I am comfortable with.

Just to add, I have a glock 17 clone that doesn't fit my glock 17 light bearing holster because the very front of the frame is a little bigger and the holster fits tight in that area. So just be aware that holster fit even with a light might be iffy.

Happy you did this testing and all,...BUT,...just about any crappy pistol will work reliably with round-nose FMJ ammo. What I would much rather see is if this feeds all the same odd projectile profiles that Glock is known for eating with ease. Try feeding it the widest open hollow-points you can find. Try SWC and short connicals.

@ not yet. I don’t have an issue with the rear sights I actually like those. That front one, might end up buying a cheap TruGlo front sight and just try to attach it with epoxy or something. But I also have a PSA Dagger and the slide works on it as well. So it may just be smarter to buy a basic Dagger upper. I love the ergonomics on the Derya but the upper kinda sucks

Magazine interchangeability with a major market leader is a factor not to be overlooked. Particularly if you're looking at a gun to whose supply might get cut off *overnight* for reasons of international politics or domestic economics. Sounds like if the Turkish supply dried up the day after you bought this, you'd be able to keep it going with Glock aftermarket parts if you had to.
