I built the original tunnel hull Kudu while working for Ron Jones back in the 70's. I am 77 now and so magic to see what you guys are doing today.

I grew up just across the Canadian border and got to watch "MY WAY" many times.. the 50 ft Mystic with twin turbines (6000 HP) and 224 mph top speed.. Gotta love the turbine setups, very cool .. Gorgeous 46 Skater!!

I'm not a boat guy but I am an engine and engineering guy and holy cow this thing is just insane. Love it and hearing it go is a privilege. Seeing the end of the video with what I believe is an ICE engine in comparison with it was just smashing. Church music the whole thing. My hat's off to the owner for having the muscle to get this done in all the ways they have. Just ace. :-)

I was a groomsman in the wedding of the daughter of one of the people involved in the reassembly of the London bridge that took place under the bridge on the one side back in 1980. Seeing that lake again brings back memories. What an amazing boat. How fast can it go on that smooth water?

These are works of art. I and male members of my family gravitate towards Drag boats, some of which have turbines but most have BIG turbo GMBB based engine designs. But these boats are like fine music solidified into metal and carbon fiber.....

FYI people. Howard Arneson had pioneered this application 30 years ago on San Francisco Bay. He used Russian helicopter engines with a lot more HP and Arneson surface drives.

I remember watching a video of that Arneson surface drive boat. It hit 180 mph just outside SF bay and left the helicopter filming it behind. Arneson used his surface drive. This boat is using more or less conventional stern drive units.

I was fortunate enough to be on that boat when I guided Howard from Richardson bay( his home) 65 miles east, up through the delta, all the way to discovery bay. We averaged over 100mph.

I was on a 46 skater 160 mp. That was back in 2006. It hard for people to understand how fast that feels on that water. Amazing how quickly speds are getting faster since the early 80s fast offshore in those days was in the 80s.

fueled a lot of jets, small to the AN-124, never saw any boats on the ramp. quite a display of expensive there. flames are a little contrived but gotta love turbines, can't beat the power to weight ratio and reliability when you have the cash and/or need.

WoW ! I did not think anyone would try to emulate the Skater twin turbine Howard Arneson did 25 years ago. Well done. He also invented the "Arneson surface drive" Much more efficiant way or propulsion IMHO. Arneson also set the speed record for the "Missippi river challenge" from New orleans to St Lois in river traffic and beat his transportation vehicle by 10-hourse (it left the night before) and that was in his original single turbine engine w/Arneson surface drive in a 35' cat

It's really fast and really cool. During the video I thought to myself: "Why are these morons taking a boat to the airport?" Oh yeah...jet fuel! Who's the moron now?? Myself, I just love the sound of a rowdy, high-compression piston engine even if the performance and durability isn't at the same level as a turbine. I'm sure those turbines have a pretty high TBOH!
