Number 16 is ridiculous and the red pickup should share some of the blame. That was an avoidable accident, but the red pickup decided to speed into a car as it was changing lanes. I feel that sometimes people want to wreck their cars to prove that they're "right". The Prius did make an illegal lane change, but any rational person would have braked not sped up. I have been in situations where I probably wouldn't have been found at fault, but i'd rather just avoid an accident and move on with my day.
@benedettoangiolini11 ай бұрын
I don't know about the United States, but in Italy you have to do everything to avoid an accident (if physically possible, of course). No one expects you to have the reaction time of an F1 driver, but if you accelerate on purpose as in this case, you will legally share some of the blame and cost. If someone is passing you and you purposely accelerate and close the gap with the car in front of you, you will share a huge chunk of the responsibility if an accident happens.

When you have a dash camera, know that the other person is at fault and lying, let them make their official report to police first. Then show the police the proven facts via camera. @Absaalookemensch11 ай бұрын
@@kevinphillips150Liars have been legally held accountable for their lies. If the cammer immediately replies, when confronted with obvious and deliberate lies, that they have it on dash cam, they deny the liar the opportunity to make a false official report. With an official record of being punished for lying on a report, it puts any future statement suspect as they are already a proven liar. A simple scan of their rap sheet will confirm that.

As someone who was on the receiving end of 2 car crashes in 2023, these videos make me realize how much worse it could have been. I was not hurt in either wreck. The first crash my car was totaled, the second one, lady blasted through a red light. I was able to slam on brakes enough so I only needed my bumper replaced on my truck. Neither wreck was my fault.

Number 10. Been in those instances before, one person trying to let a driver pass but seems to forget the lane next to them can't see and the person they think their being nice to can't see them either. Don't do this, it's dangerous and doesn't help anyone when they get hit, just drive and the person will be able to pass when traffic passes first.

If the hood mirror was properly adjusted, they could have seen them. But, since those mirrors take a beating and often break then point where the please, it's possible they couldn't see. Wtf is up with people REFUSING to yield at all costs??? I see so many of these dashcam videos where the driver filming could just very easily avoid the collisions by just letting people go in front of them, like in #16, instead of trying to brute force their metal death machine into the same place simply because they are (or sometimes they just think they are) technically in the right in that situation. If someone does an illegal lane change, which isn't even illegal in many other countries since it isn't in mine the way #16 played out, it's still way worse for you to then speed up and ram your car into them. I think in this case that makes it entirely the fault of the dashcam driver. If he couldn't avoid the car it would have been a different story, but he actively sped up to hit him, so it's entirely on him that the collision happened now.
