Can you imagine having a best friend since 7th grade, who you built an underground empire with? They were just kids being kids, rapping, wrestling, chasing girls.....and now almost 30 years and millions of sold records later, they are just chillin on Hot 97. I'm not a "Juggalo" or anything, but I find these dudes slightly fascinating. They've been in the game (the UNDERGROUND game, no less) longer than most acts, they are 100% devoted to their fans (when they say it's all about the fans, these fuckers actually mean it), and they're stayed true to their anti-mainstream success, and have never strayed. Also, J and Shaggy stayed homies since the beginning. There's a lot to respect there, don't you think? Juggalos themselves are super chill people, who don't discriminate, don't judge, none of that shit. I can't say I dig most of their content, but I do dig their older, more horror-based stuff (Amy's in the Attic, Prom Queen, etc.) So, yeah, just my opinion. They get too much hate, and they seem humble af.

They make their living and stay true to themselves. as an artist what more can you ask for? If you're not a fan of their music, that's fine but i have to respect these guys for grinding for so long and paving the way for a lot of other artists that may never have seen the light of day without them pushing boundaries for horrorcore and rap in general.

David Nicolas too bad Esham is the actual person that pushed the boundaries of Hip-Hop in Detroit, never got his due.
@Mythical4447 жыл бұрын
Isaac Baranoff in my opinion Esham had a lot more better quality albums than ICP. I'm just going off pure influence and not how much money they were making separately. Granted, they both suck nowadays but Esham was running shit in Detroit in the 90's man, ICP was influenced heavily by Esham (as they said in this very interview) Plain and simple if there was no Esham, ICP may not have got the certain edge they had to gain such a following.

I'm not a fan of ICP, I'm actually a fan (not a fanatic) of Strange Music, but ICP is right about what they said about Tech. I caught it on Tech's interview and felt it was kind of wrong to be saying what he did. It was wrong because Tech upholds himself as an honest, transparent, truthful man, and for the most part he actually is, but...he should give ICP that credit. Tech's show are always hella pact with Juggalos
@amandaflorez22517 жыл бұрын
one show I went to for Tech it was alot of Juggalos I was wondering what was going on with Tech N9ne meant with the meaning technicians I was under the impression that ICP and Tech N9ne was chill but they have some sort of beef or division?
@Hugo-tf6no7 жыл бұрын
I doubt there's any beef, like ICP said in the video. Technicians is just the label of his fans, and plenty of those happen to be Juggalos. I doubt any Juggalos actually consider themselves "Technicians" cause there's also plenty that aren't Juggalos. If it seems like there's division, I'm not talking for Tech, this is just my interpretation but it seems like he just wanted to create his own thing, instead of being completely associated with ICPs world.
@amandaflorez22517 жыл бұрын

Esham has an EP called "Homey don't play!" and they were huge fans of Esham (as well as eventually becoming his peers) and they loved that clown makeup idea and switched from doing gangster rap as the Inner City Posse, and became Insane Clown Posse. like 1990-91

From 5th-7th I was a hug fan, bought all the albums up until then. Threw them out when I was like 14. I regret it from time to time. They had some gems to be real. On some music shit.

Really good interview! Been following them for 25 years, glad to hear civilized questions, and intrigue. Instead of the jargon I usually hear in interviews.

Honestly, never heard of these guys but i was one of those early Slim Shady/Eminem fans that thought that raw disrespectful style of rap was HIS. Now i know where the "wicked rap" came from, respect to Em and his influencers.

Oh and hot 97. great job interviewing icp. it seems that either people like them or absolutely hate them. that doesn't change the fact that they are legendary and are among the best in the business.
