@@beaubjarnason Yeah I need to get out there for sure. I’ve decided ice fishing for lake trout is my favourite species to target through the ice

What was the ice thickness when you were there?
@beaubjarnason11 ай бұрын
I did not record the ice thickness on that trip. It’s usually around 36” by late February. You’re either in need of an extension or very very close. Appreciate you watching.

Is there any deep water close to fort chip?
@beaubjarnason11 ай бұрын
Not really. The lake is surprisingly shallow on the Alberta side of the border. I’m usually fishing in not much deeper then 6 or 7 feet of water.

Have you been out this season?
@beaubjarnason11 ай бұрын
No haven’t made it up to the big lake yet this year. As of a week ago I heard ice wasn’t great on Lake Athabasca. I was told lots of overflow. It may be good now though I haven’t had any other updates. Went about half way up the winter road today and tried a little backcountry lake I had never been to. Winter Road is looking good. Thanks for watching.
