That's awesome, wish I could put this on my Lexus but it's all sealed up other than the sides, would think it looks better if it could work on the front of my car..but it's sealed up with that rubber weather strip thing. Well it's not hard at all as long as you have a circuit tester. I've noticed a lot of people don't have them and they're like 5 bucks at the auto store. Get one it will help you greatly to figure out which wire has power when the car is off and when the Ignition is on.

@WikedWips I would like to install this on my Hyundai and i see the LED strip sits on hood seal (aka hood weather strip). Is this going obstruct what the seal is supposed to do or does this break Hyundai warranty as far as you know?

The seal there insulates or reduces the noise of wind blowing in the engine bay. The led strip would block the wind instead of the seal... Even if the strip wasn't there, I'm pretty sure it doesn't void warranty.

The only way is if you connected a switch to the strip but this is supposed to be use as a running light.

My friend has a ford f150 xlt 2018 can some one plz help us when we hit unlocked on your key fob they comes on but when u get in the truck the strip goes off what we have done was we hooked the ground to the good ground and the red wire we had hooked it to one of the raptor grill lights in the middle we have a raptor grill installed. We also wanted to do the fuse, but we don’t know which fuse is lie when you hit the unlock button on the key fob. Plz help some on he wants to do it where when he hits the unlock button they come on and I guess stay on while you’re driving the truck and then goes off when you turn the key off..

You have to hook up the red to a fuse/wire that has power when the Ignition is turned on.

I need to know since you didn’t show it on the video but when using a turn signal, does the strip also follow with the turn signal sequence? If so, will it be yellow turn sequence or white turn sequence? Also can this be connected to the headlights from “DRL”? Daytime running lights.

Hey brother, I didn't show it because it wasn't meant for a turn signal...but I'm sure if you connected it to a turn signal it would work buttttttt it would have the same start up sequence as you saw in the video which would look ridiculous as a turn signal.

On my Kia optima there is a rubber gasket at the front edge of the hood. I would have to remove that to get a gap for the light to show. Does the forte not have that?

I chose to install the strip underneath the hood due to the better adhesion of the strip. On the lower portion on this car, has some plastic trim which will not be a good candidate for sticking the strip. Also no wires are pinched or hanging loose because used wire management accessories that I placed in the description of the video.

Connect the wires and use some tape to hold strip in place, then close the hood. Once the hood is closed, it will give you an idea of what you need to do.

Question. I've watched a few installation videos and a lot of others stick the strip under the hood instead of on the hood. Why did you choose the hood?

Because every car/truck is not the same. For instance the mounting surface might not be conducive for 3m tape adhesion....and/or say for instance my Ram 1500, I also mounted it directly on the hood because if it's mounted under the hood & I had to take off my grill, I'd have to pull off the strip as well....so call it future planning 😉

I have a light already using my ACC fuse on my fuse box. Is there another fuse slot you recommend to use for this strip? I see an A/C fuse and a Wiper motor fuse. Which do you think is best?

This is where your circuit tester comes in handy.... Test another fuse with the Ignition off, make sure the circuit tester does not light up and then test it again with the Ignition on and make sure it only has power when the Ignition is in the run position.

Question, will this not reduce the airflow to cool your engine down, as manufactures leave this small gap between ther bonnet and the car for a reason..? as much is it s a cool look, it sealing up another vent for hot air to escape is it not ?

I see ur point but the sides of the hood are not blocked at all....also there has to be some form of gap in order to open and close the hood/bonnet....also food for thought, my Ram1500 and Subaru both have rubber Seals blocking the same space when the hood closes.

Well you have to take off all the red backing in order for the entire strip to stick.

Yes one is left on. Also as u know not all fuse taps are the same and I didn't have that specific addifuse at the time to I opted to tap into the wires....no issues

Where did you tap into with your fuse tap? Before I bought some fuse taps, the seller warns not to tap into any primary fuses ex. Ignition, ecu... The only place to tie into otherwise (under the hood) is the DRL's. Then you won't have these lights on at night. Thanks

Click on 3:05 and it will take you to the part of the video where I tapped.....also depending on ur car, you can just you a fuse tap(addifuse) on the ACC fuse. Test a 10 or 15amp fuse that only has power when the Ignition is on.

I'm pretty sure since it's a white light...so this would be considered a running light just like the low beam on newer cars.....also I've seen some new cars with the same tech from the factory now.....hope this helps

If it does not turn off when you turn off your car, that means you connected it to a source that even has power when the engine/car/ignition is off.

A better option would have to install around the grill and engine bay. Instead of around the hood that you have to repeatedly open. Wires will break over time. So having them move less the longer they last

As I said in the video, around the grill, there's like a rubber/vinyl piece that the adhesive won't stick to, that's the reason I stuck it on the underside of the hood. Also, the way I ran it, there is no movement of the wires.
