A bit of a tip. If you first place some thin reflective tape down and then stick the LEDs to that, it stops the light showing in the actual headlight and also intensifies the output.

First time seeing your channel here and I'm very impressed with the DETAIL you provide in your instructions for the wiring. I've gone over about 40 of these (my own o.c.d.) and BY FAR yours is the first one that I'd say gives a complete and total explanation of wiring an inline fuse. Everyone else skims around it or slightly references it and for THIS reason I'm subscribing. If I were a betting man, I'd say that you've given these same instructions so often that they've become second nature to you. This is what makes for a quality instructor. KNOWING not only the theory but how to properly address and express the minute details that ensure the student gets the information. Kudos on a good video.

the indicator sequence is inverted in your case . for right turn it should blink from left to right

Just installed these last night, I tapped into my low beams, turn signal and turn signal ground, works like a charm. I was going to install them as directed but I’m a POS lol but they work great!

I noticed if i put the red power to the low beam positive, it would only turn on when the headlight is on (during night time mostly). similar situation with you or no?

@@CriCKiD3 that can work, but remember my wife's car doesn't have running lights, so that was the purpose of the vid....that's why the red is run directly to accessory fuse.😃

@@CriCKiD3 so my car (21 Corolla) has Bi- LED headlights (low and high beam come from the same light controlled by a flap in LED module.) the headlights also are Daytime Running Lights (during the day they run at a dimmer output). On my headlight harness coming from the car, there are 3 separate wires one for low, one for high, and one for DRL. However since they are all connected to power the same LED, even though I originally tapped into the low beam wire, my LED strip would also turn on even during the day when only my DRLs were on. It depends on your vehicle. I hope that helps too. I have a video on my channel how I installed mine

Nice install vid. I am designing my own headlight setup for my 02 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally. I am going to purchase a new set of headlight assemblies and possibly painting the whole inside either all diamond pearl white, to match the car, or all flat black, I Projector lens assembly will be installed on the inside so I dont need to worry about the reflector grid. So I want to install sequential LED lights to match the upgraded light setup. I actually found your video on Amazon video reviews for the product. The best one I have seen that shows how to actually install the light strip on to the assembly itself. I thought about taking it apart and placing it inside the lens assembly itself, but I forgot how to seal the assembly again. heh heh. Great video though my dude!

Great video. I'm about to do mine right now as I write this comment . Your video does have 1 flaw that I saw... You positioned them backwards . The turn signal lights should illuminate at the front end of the strip first, and and the others lights illuminate sequentially with the ones closest to the front going next until the end of the strip is reach. This enhance the indication to turn left or right. Lights with a illumination pattern that moves from back to front could possibly make a oncoming driver pause for a second depending on different factors (distance , visibility , speed, etc..)

Right...got them fitted....decided they are just not bright enough to use as daytime running lights so i have wired the white into the marker/side lights circuit... the indicators work well though... Look great as once the sun is setting and in the dark...

Great video! What is the clearance between the headlight & the trunk for this to fit? I want to install this on my ford edge 2014 but I’m afraid it would damage the strip when I close the hood.

I was wondering if it would be possible to put a button on the power wire that comes from ACC? That I could turn it on and off. Never thought I would need to do this but my country decided to ban aftermarket day time lights for some reason and I don't want to get rid of them.

Yes you can definitely run a switch from the Acc wire!

Where did you Ground the right headlight? The left headlight reaches the battery without any more wiring. The paper says to run it to the negative battery terminal.

Hey thx 4 watching! The grounds were inserted into the connector housing itself. If u can't do it like that, connect/join both ground wires from the strips, then use xtra wire and join to the led strip ground wires and you can connect it to either the body(metal) of the car or directly to the negative terminal of the battery!

Question, already bought these, when turning on the headlights (I also have a Kia) you turn on parking lights (running yellow) also signals and then headlights. So when all of that is on does the power that’s running through to the Parking lights activate the signal? Or does it only come on when you turn on blinkers? Is there a certain wire for it? Also what did you do with your ground? If you wired it in with the harness how did you figure out what one was the ground. Sorry for all the questions lol

Hey Will, I don't know if you watched the entire video but there's a lot of info in there that would assist you! The parking and turn signal should be 2 separate wires and in your case you might have to test it if the setupis different! As far as the ground goes, there was a black ground wire on the light harness where I inserted one of the prongs. There was also a yellow wire on there as well for the turn signal. Hope this helps

That's just how the led strips function where the turn signal takes precedence!

What do you mean "canceling out the headlight?" These are not headlights. They are combination daytime running lights/ turn signals. The headlights on this car (and all cars that have LED running lights) operate independently of the LED strips. He didn't ever turn on the car's headlights in this video.

I installed the strips onto a Mercedes and the LEDs work fine but when I hit the turn signals they only go a quarter of the way across on both sides. Got any advise?

Well could be a couple things, either the strips are damaged which I doubt orrrr the stock signal blinks very fast so the LEDs has to shorten its distance in order to keep up with the rhythm to the stock turns!

I ran mines through the fuse box , cig lighter, inside my 2012 kia optima. I ran the ground to a medal part of the car under the hood. I didn't care for the yellow blinking lights. What makes the yellow lights come on? Because today I noticed the passenger side was on yellow? I disconnected that light and reconnect it and it went back white again. What happened?

If you want them to come on when you open your car, you would have to tap into one of your Auxiliary lights that come on when you open the door.

I do t have a diagram but it’s pretty simple. The black to a ground, the red is power for the running lights and tap the yellow to the turn signal..hope this helps

Those are pins attached to the wires to make it easy to plug into the back of the harness controlling the light! Not all strips have these pins

I did that for wiring purposes since I had everything setup a certain way. Also the base where the wire comes out would not have fit properly.

@@WikedWips Let’s say your on the driver head lamp. If the animation is moving say toward the wire (or away it doesn’t matter in this example) it would be the same wether or not you flip sides 🤔 if the wires are placed on the strip at the front of the car (left) and the animation is moving away (right) toward the back of the car it would be the exact same if you were to put that same strip on the passenger side. Does that make sense? Leaving the flip flop of the sides redundant and unnecessary. So were the wires shorter on one side to be closer to the battery necessitating the relocation? I apologize, the Aspergers is full effect today 😅 you don’t have to reply if you don’t want to

Of course it's no headlight, but most of the daytime running lights of cars that come with them from the factory are pretty bright. I expect from these to be maybe at least half bright in comparison with those.

bro, so I didn't install mine exactly the same, didn't want the day time running lights on all the time. I ran the red and black cable from the drl to the park light negative and positive and then yellow off the turn signal cable now the problem is the lights stop working when the car is switched on. When the car is off everything works fine. The LED strips are 12v, any idea why that would happen? I suspect the voltage is dropping when the car is switched on

Okay so I got it working now well kinda working, the running day light works fine. Just ran a cable to one of the ignition switched fuses like you did. Now the problem I have is the sequential light works intermittently and does not run all the way to the end, if I ran the yellow cable directly to the battery it works fine. It looks like I need to give it a constant 12volt supply for the sequentials to work properly not an on off signal. I'm not sure how to get around this issue. Any ideas please bro?

@@WikedWips it's still connected to the turn signal cable just rewired the positive for the running day light. I noticed that when I've been driving the car for a while the sequentials start working as normal.

Ok ACC is jus an accessory fuse but the same premise stands....meaning that u take a tester and test ur No17 fuse when the car is off, if the tester doesn't light, keep the tester on the fuse and turn the Ignition on at the same time and if it lights up, that's ur fuse to tap into!! So it'sa trial an error basis for you...also you never mentioned the car you had?!

Test number 29 or 35 fuse for power when the car is off. If no power is detected, keep the tester on the fuse and switch the ignition on. If your tester lights up, that’s the fuse

That's actually a pretty good question the answer to that is yes and no. Some cars will allow it and some car won't where you will get a code on the Dashboard. That's the reason why I showed how to run your own dedicated fuse so you won't have that issue

@@reggielansang7429 that does nor sound right....the major power of you did it jus like me is the wire coming from the fuse box for the DRL portion. The yellow wire on the strip taps to turn signal wire on ur car. It should not stay on at all. It's that simple😃
