This kind of reminds me how if you scan for the ship as you're landing, or as you're taking off, you'll see the label of the ship where the ship is going to land rather than where you're currently standing inside the ship.

That's crazy. I've had items (including gold bars) appear in front of the ship like this before, even going back several months, and even appearing further away from the ship without any special jump being executed. I guess it's something that's been possible in many forms for a long time, but this technique is the only way to do it consistently? Very interesting!

If you open a gift and don't pick it up after it goes through the floor and appears on the moons surface as you land and take off so that's probably what it was.

Kinda interesting what this means for how the ship's probably implemented. Rather than the whole ship flying, it's really just a zone on the ground, and when you push the lever everything in the zone just starts getting pushed into the air (explaining why you get the boost when you jump in + are "in the ship").

It's because how pretty much every game works is that any object riding another object is simply copying the base objects movement. When you enter the area the game considers the ship the game is applying the ships movement to your character, but then I guess there's a different system in place that is recognizing the fact you're not actually inside the ship so it doesn't continue the effect, maybe it's tries to detect if you're touching ground.

You can kinda see it if you jump off the ship while it's moving. You'll move "with" the ship for a brief moment before suddenly dropping straight down. However, it does seem to remember position since, well, there's the offense fire exit jump. (I think?)

​@@Whispernyan I'm sure the ship has a zone on where it usually stands, but that zone doesn't actually move with the ship so if you enter the ship after it left the zome counts you as in the ship and launches you which gets you out of the ship zone so you stop getting launched

@@he3004 I know it doesn't move since you can scan for the ship's location even before landing but it's still weird that the zone would give you the ship's momentum in the first place, since obviously you still move with the ship after leaving that zone so it has to just be for some edge case to prevent some other thing form going wrong, and the fact this video specifies you have to enter from where the ship door would be makes it seem more like it's a trigger spot that tells the game you're inside the ship not just an all encompassing zone. Makes me wonder if the game only knows you're inside the ship explicitly when you enter from the door. I know from the shiploot mod that the outside rails of the ship still count as being on the ship since loot is still counted there, but loot on the rails will be lost in space so there's definitely more complex things going on. Edit I just remembered that you get teleported into the ship at the end of the day while being on the rails anyways so the state of "being on the ship" and "being in the ship" are entirely separate things and it's possible that just touching the ship itself counts as being on it whereas you have to cross the door for the game to consider you as inside the ship. And it's exploiting the door trigger not being tied to the ship's physical location that makes this possible.

i ran into this glitch months ago using a dog player model mod that lowered the items so much that some like the bottles would clip thru the floor. wife and i thought we were multiplying bottles at first when we kept seeing them appear on moons and the building as we flew in. then she noticed my bottles just going thru the floor. as far as i understand, it seems to be under the ship in general? i'd drop my bottles a few feet from the entrance and they'd clip thru and we'd grab them by ducking under the hanging platform. i didn't know about the jumpboost thing, i feel it may be unneccessary (tho it is a good way to help you line up where you can drop items, and maybe you need it for the height boost?).

It's not very reliable, even the things you collect can be deleted from the Cruiser, it's better to put them inside the ship.

I don't think so - I'm pretty sure the "launch" is because you entered a "wind box" that pushes players up as a workaround to player movement on mobile platforms being janky.

Im confused on who this is for? If your solo you cant do the exploit, and if your on a team and one person survives, most of the time all the loot you found that day will either be on the ship at the end or will be left in or near the facility.
