The F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team performs precision aerial maneuvers at airshows across the world to demonstrate the unique capabilities of the world's premier 5th generation fighter aircraft. The team also performs with the Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation to showcase modern day fighter jets flying in formation with World War II, Korean, and Vietnam era aircraft.
The team is stationed at Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia. In March 2007, the team participated in its debut air show at Tyndall Air Force Base. Since then, the team has performed more than 250 demonstrations across the world.

I saw the F22 fly at an airshow at the Chino airport in SoCal. It was jaw dropping. I like airshows, and have seen many military aircraft perform great shows, like the Blue Angels. But the F22 is in a class by itself. It performed maneuvers that looked like it broke all the laws of physics. It headed streight up in a slow climb, slowed, and then came to a complete halt in an absolutely vertical position, and hung motionless for over a minute. Like it was hanging on a string. All kinds of small thrusters and control surfaces were in constant jittering motion to keep it there. It had to be computer controlled, no man can operate a dozen controls at once. It then slowly rotated on its axis, and gracefully flew off. I know the cobra maneuver, this was utterly different. It performed other maneuvers that should be impossible, like tiny loops in super slow motion. Like slowly tumbling end over end. It should have fallen out of the sky, but it was always in perfect control. It made me proud to be an American.

In terms of domination of it's era the F-15 Eagle is the greatest fighter ever made. Air to Air, Ground Attack, multi-role. The Eagle does it all. 105-0 kill ratio.

Absolutely love this plane. Even though it's massive the way it changes direction beggars belief. The only bit of criticism (if I may be so bold) is that one of the most impressive things is seeing just how fast it changes direction, but this video is entirely slow motion. Just a bit of a shame. Otherwise, it was a great way to show off such a beautiful and amazing aircraft.

The worst thing about flying a raptor is enduring the G forces. Other than that, it is pretty easy to fly. This is what I heard from F22 pilots. You don't have to worry about Over stressing the airframe or anything. The flight control systems take care of that. Apparently in the training manual it said "you can manoeuvre this aircraft with reckless abandon".

If you wanna fly, here's a quick outline of what it takes to get there. You'll need to keep an A average in school. If you get involved with extracurricular activities like sports it will help as well. Apply for the Air Force Academy (I believe you start the process towards the end of your junior year in H.S.). If you don't get in, go to a college with an Air Force ROTC program. You'll need to be around the top 5% of your class to qualify for flight coming out of ROTC. For flight school in the Air Force, it comes down to this. At the end of training the orders come in for what flight slots are open. If you are #1 in your class, you get first pick of orders. If there is an F-22 slot open, its yours for the taking. Best of luck to you!

Its fun to think about the aircraft of your dreams, however getting a high score in school is what will get you there!!! Also the most difficult part of the process is staying focused for the amount of time it takes to get there. It is 150% worth it! When your day comes when You are the one in a flight suit as a commissioned officer and and are wearing a pair of wings on your chest, it was all worth the sacrifices you made as a youngster and your journey into aviation is just beginning! It is All Yours for the taking! God speed to you and Best of luck!

Whenever i see a Raptor vd upload, i'm always wishing for my childhood to emerge, so i can start all over again and become that fighter pilot i always wanted to be. But hey, my life took another turn, as it often is (i'm 50 now), and i would properly never got to fly these beats birds anyway, as i'm from Denmark ;-) But hey.......we are about to get our 37 pieces of the F-35A, and i'm looking forward to see those in the sky, for the first time...can't wait! Cheers from Denmark and thx for decades of working together with your fine military. (very very fine footage, btw).

6th gen will probably be less maneuverable. The USAF wants a big near-space heavy fighter with the ability to carry bigger, extreme-range BVR missiles like the AIM-260 JATM for PCA. Supermaneuverability is on the way out.
