I ride a 2022 Harley Davidson Road King; I wouldn't get near half of those things they look like death traps. It's amazing what some people consider to be motorcycles.

The sports bike with the speedway wheel is a bit extreme, great looking bikes, nice to see the world isn't slowing down because half of us are dead or dying of something or other, keep on keeping on!! 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣2️⃣

Look folks, these bikes are built to be art forms. Plain and simple. They aren't built to run on race circuits, ride in the rain, ride a coast to coast tour or do anything except look cool as hell and make folks stop and stare. They do this quite well you must admit. Enjoy them for what they are, a (hopefully) well executed design exercise, and something no other swinging di#k has!

For the most part, I am just not getting this. I know they like standing quarter drag racing in the USA, but from what we saw in these vides, the extended swinging arm bikes were not hooking up. There was way too little weight transfer to the rear tire under acceleration, so the tire just let go and spun up. I am also wondering how theyhandle on the highway and go round corners? Some of the tires had a reasonably curved cross section, so you should be able to lean into a curve, but how far over, and how stable would the bike be? That silver chopper at the beginning is obviously more style statement than a bike to ride, but here again, I wonder how it handles on the highway. I have seen the Bikes & Beards guy talk about an Orange County Chopper he bought, and say it was down right dangerous. Not only that, but it was badly made and finished. Almost as it was only meant to be trailered to shows, and never ridden on the highway. At the risk of upsetting folk, I was never impressed with the Orange County workmanship anyway, but I worked as a toolmaker and design engineer, so can back up that opinion. So is the fat tire/long swing arm thing strictly a style statement, or does it have some function? I am picturing those crazy steep hill climbs, but with tarmac rather than bumpy dirt. Now that's something I'd pay good money to see.

Bling bikes. Some guys with some serious engineering talent. Rode my Hayabusa for 10 years. Tracked her at infineon raceway in Sonoma Calif. Single sided full titanium pipe, carbon fiber wheels, resprung front end valved and ported. Full on rear race strut.....and many other mods. None of these bikes would stand a chance against my bike on the street or a race course. These fat tires look so cool but absolutely destroy a bike's lean properties. These guys who do these bikes love the looks and the chick factor.

I wonder how these 'fat tires' would do in the rain. Would they slip and slide due to having too much "patch contact" ?
@jonchilds1637 Жыл бұрын
In other words, insufficient ground pressure so can’t cut through the water. It’s a common failure on kit cars too - 10” wide tyres on a car the weighs 1500lb? Recipe for disaster!
