nice video - i can remember my childhood, with the sound of steam engins, and sometimes the wheelspin and unintended cranking up oh the engines revs. greetings from germany.

Neat stuff. I knew engine wheels slipped but not that spark were thrown ever in that number. Never knew any trains fed a small amount of sand under the drive wheels. I suspect this contributes to grinding down the wheels and tracks but the hill is not going to climb itself.

British India Line is what many of us railfans refer to as a Bulleid Pacific, with this engine specifically being of the SR Merchant Navy class, developed by the then Chief Mechanical Engineer; Oliver Bulleid. She was rebuilt in 1956 to address some of the Merchant Navy's operational faults, notably the removal of Bulleid's chain-driven valve gear which tended to wear prematurely.

i remember the new diesels: "what is THAT?" yes i'm that old. my dad got me a chance to Toot the whistle when i was little bitty. i would almost pee my pant i'd get so excited when a loco would chug through a grade crossing. thanks, Sergey!

We have a classic locomotive and passenger cars that runs between Lebanon Ohio and Mason Ohio. I’ve taken the trip with my family several times for fun.

An very overloaded (too heavy) train to gain traction. No surprise it happened in India.

For the locomotives that was going up hill. I understand the 2001 out of water, but couldn't the other locomotive connect a power transfer cable to use the electronic motors? Basically using both engines sets of wheels powered by the lead engine?
