Nah, I don’t want a serious team because it just doesn’t make sense when the main character is 12 years old. If we had another 16 year-old protagonist like Calem and Serena then it would make sense. That’s anime protagonist age, not 12. Also, school bullies as a villain team actually makes sense for the age of the mc, and is just a good idea in general. Bullying is easily relatable to most, so I could see people actually hating them in a good way. But like I said, I agree with you that most of the SV Pokémon have been disappointing. But Grafaiai and these 2 net armor Pokémon are instant team member for me tho.

I may not disagree with your stance heavily, however red was 11 when he disbanded a criminal organization lol. obviously bullies or a school gang as a main "evil group" makes sense for a game like this, I never said it didn't in all fairness, I just miss fighting evil teams lol.

@@Astrons I think you may have misinterpreted what I meant. What I mean is that I don’t really take the first 5 evil teams seriously at all since they lost to a child and wear goofy outfits. It just feels so staged that immersion is lost. Typical kids programming show where the kid is a god. I never was a fan of that trope in Pokémon. If you want to make a group of villains that should be taken seriously, then either make them destroy the main character, or make the main character old and mature enough to actually beat them in a realistic fashion.

Technically The Aether Foundation and Rose Cosmos were serious evil teams, just hidden from the plot for surprise factor and weren’t built up a ton. The idea of there being this big group of big kid bullies who are separated into their own different factions based on Type is super interesting in terms of exploration, since you can pick and choose which to challenge with your composition. I also agree that 12 year old trainer shouldn’t be fighting someone like the mafia, eco terrorists, genocidal maniacs, etc. It really just brings up the question of what the police force is doing in these situations

I really wish they would just stop trying to out-cheese Team Skull. It ain't happening bro! Sun/Moon had some of the funniest evil team dialogue in YEARS! Still the best evil team. For real.

The last two gens had serious evil teams too, they were just behind the scenes till the end while a less serious team took the spotlight at the beginning is all.

I don’t think serious evil teams are even that good, my favourite aka. Team skull was a non serious team yet they had so much personality that actually made the grunts somewhat humans which is cooler to me than some of other teams. Normal evil teams also just are so plain in the story since once you see them you know what they do and the leaders are all the same with the “ I want to end/create/rework this world/region”.. Also team skill are just funky dudes and are funny when reading there dialogue.

I will never let up on the fact that gen 8 did have an evil team and it was the government. They had an HQ battle gauntlet with mono-types, an admin, and a boss. Pokemon made the government the bad guy and no one talks about it ^^U

I actually don't mind that the Evil Team isn't serious again this time around. Mostly because these games already has a School setting. So the Evil Team just being Student Delinquents makes a lot more sense imo.

It doesn't make much sense though, because our protagonist has no logical reason to get involved in fighting them. If there are no stakes, and we can go anywhere, there is no reason our protagonist wouldn't just ignore them, other than game mechanics.

So, the big problem with Klawf: basically, if it gets to half HP, it becomes even easier to KO. Its a crab, I doubt it will be very fast, so raising its speed probably won't stop it from being outsped, and the decreased defenses make it easier to kill before it can capitalize on the attack boost.

My issue with Team Star isn’t that they’re a school bully gang. It’s that they are the THIRD fire-themed villain team. Team Magma, Team Flare, and now Team Star. Why???? Why not Dark-type? Or Steel-type for the engines? Or Poison-type for the engine exhaust? Anything but a fire theme.

Ceruledge being exclusive to Violet hurts my Scarlet soul, but it'll give me an excuse to do trades I suppose. I still REALLY like both Ceruledge and Armarouge, and don't mind maining Aramrouge in Scarlet. Since I've been doing blind Nuzlockes of the games as they come out since X and Y, I'm gonna really hope to get Arma on my team.

All of what I've seen, there are only two things I dislike: Terastalize(which is self explanatory;the hats are stupid), and team star. I wanna go back to the actual evil teams. I want some actual stakes, ya know. If they are just school troublemakers, there's no reason in universe for our character to get involved. There's no stakes, no reason to even glance at them besides for gameplay purposes.
