My missus has just bought a 2022 Polo GTi and there seems to be a lack of tuning options. Am I right in saying that her car has the IS20 turbo? I believe it's also a slightly different version of the EA888 engine that is developed more for efficiency than power?

Correct...it makes similar power to the is12 found this polo GTI but mod for mod the new one is slower due to being the ea888.3b and not the conventional ea888.3

Not really “less” tuneable. The community for the MK6 AW polos is definitely smaller but it’s a 2L vs the 1.8L. When it comes to tuning, the 2L will make more power obviously as it can physically push more air and fuel into each cylinder due to the bigger bore diameter. However both cars can handle an IS38 turbo on stock internals and the MK6 AW makes more bhp on a “stage 1” tune

Was this a OEM is20 being used or a hybrid is20? I've got a hybrid is20 ballbearing, 437 whp (all supporting mods ) I destroy OEM is38s but I'm going hybrid is38 ball bearing soon.

@@HCWinc This is my car.. Raceseng is the brand pal 👍 They're an American company, top quality piece of kit, recommended highly. A weighted shift knob on one of their VW adaptors. Much more OEM appearance than a 'We are likewise' knob.. Not an R-line product, wouldn't be much point in that! 🙃

@@brandonsmith3324 Hey mate, how's the car holding up? I've recently purchased a Polo GTI which is currently stock, I'm considering upgrading to "Stage 3" in the near future. I think I'll be going for a IS20 as you did rather than a IS38. Mainly due my polo being my only car and I'm sure the power upgrade from the IS20 is more than enough... Especially for how often you actually put your foot down on a day-to-day basis, even going on track days I'm sure the IS20 offers plenty of usable power with less lag than an IS38 on comparison. It's interesting to see someone utilise the factory airbox (something I'm planning on doing) With VUDU mentioning you had modified the intake system, what did you have to do to make it compatible with the upgraded elbow and inlet pipe? & is it correct that I've read that you have to upgrade to the Golf R breather hose when doing this? Finally, did VUDU source/supply the IS20 which was fitted to your car or is that something you had to source yourself? Thanks for your help.
