Lol. The instrument Dimash plays is called a dombra, the instrument that you were thinking about is probably the kobyz. The kobyz is played with a bow. The Dombra is 2 stringed with horse hair. Dudarai does mean My Curly, dudar means curly hair (the song is sung from the point of view of the young lady, and her nickname for the Kazakh boy is Dudar). If you rewatch the beginning, the keyboard was next to him. Lol. You guys are real funny.

Dimash is SOOOO underplayed. So under-recognized, even with we adoring millions of fans. I just loved that he picked up a funky tune and just killed it. I was amazed, wondering how did he have air left for those 3 high notes? Can you do Omir/2023 Mood Video? Or Jasmine/2023 duet with Tia Ray at Silk Road Festival, please? Not sure that you had lyrics but just in case ... this is a folk song sung by a 17 year Russian girl telling a young Kazak boy that she was born for him. She tells him to get his butt moving between two mountains to her house and start courting her before the shallow boys around her win her suit. Thank you. The 2 stringed instrument that Dimash plays is the Dombra. It is a traditional Kazakh instrument and is the 'heart of Kazakhstan'. Most homes have one. (the other 2 stringed instrument that you were referring to is the Kobyz, which is an ancient Kazakh instrument). This is a Kazakh folk song that Dimash sings beautifully at the beginning and then changes it to a jazzy piece. Very fun :) Dimash is amazing!

Dimash is playing the Dombra which has 3 or 4 metal strings. The other instrument you’re talking about is the Kobyz, which has two strings made from horse hair. It is an ancient and quintessential piece of Kazakh culture and identity. In its most popular form, the dombyra has two-strings strung down a long, skinny neck and a pear-shaped body, flat at the front and rounded on the backside. The dombyra is, in fact, so important to Kazakh national identity that there is a popular saying: “Naǵyz qazaq qazaq emes, naǵyz qazaq - dombyra” (Нағыз қазақ қазақ емес, нағыз қазақ - домбыра), which, translated, means “A real Kazakh is not a Kazakh, a real Kazakh is a dombra.” 💙💛🔝🌹🌹❤️🎤👏👏👏
