Great effort on the gap jumps. I remember feeling the same way when i started doing them.... Its an irrational fear as you know you can clear it but that gap just kills your confidence (until you clear it) 🤣

Hi, what bikes do you guys use? I was looking at getting into mtb and would rather buy a half decent bike first time round. Any recommendations? Thank you

For your first bike, I would recommend a Dual suspension, Trail or Enduro bike. You're correct to look for something "decent", but you don't need to overspend on costly high-end technology. The bike frame should be all Aluminum (not Carbon Fiber as it is quite a bit more expensive). I would also recommend getting a bike with Rock Shox suspension and either SRAM or Shimano components. FOX shocks are awesome, but they're going to cost you more. Go to several different bike shops and demo ride as many different makes as you can. Every bike frame has different geometry and each will feel different. Some models are more suited to shorter riders and others for taller riders. The more bikes you try, the more you will recognize the right fit. Lastly, if you feel that you are too "hunched over" on the bike, you can always swap out the handlebars for bars with more "rise". DEITY makes a good variety of bars in every color you can imagine. Hope this info helps. Enjoy the search for your new bike!
