I lived in Chicago from 2012 until 2020 and those were my prime years in 20s and 30s I absolutely loved living there. Its an amazing city. the Urban beauty the cleaninless the nostalgia for me is just intense. I live in Los Angeles now and have every intention to moving back at some point in the future. I have lived in many cities including Philadelphia, Lansing, Cary, Seattle, LA but this is the only city I have emotional connection with. I just dont like the long winters as it limits the use of my cars which I love other than that I love it!

@@plumeria66the crime is no different than it ever was or that it is in any other big city. Avoid being in the wrong place at the wrong time and you’ll be fine. I’m a 61-year old woman and I’ve walked downtown at night in winter by myself and was never afraid.

I’m biased because I’m from Chicago, so that’s my answer. Skate the ribbon, see all Christmas trees along Michigan ave down to watertower place. , walk the State street decorations at Macy’s and finish with hot chocolate on Washington street Christmas markets. All within walking distance.
