Vocalist's name is Aaron Matts, ex-Betraying The Martyrs. I also love the songwriting, especially their open-ended lyrics about mental problems, trauma, etc.

@@nyctopheliaXbasicly, different ideas what about the lyrics etc shall be about. He wanted to write about the stuff he does in Ten56 and the band didnt, and they had different ideas how about band shall progress forward, with some other stuff.

You should check Older Days by Resolve. The version with Zelli from Paleface Swiss and Aaron Matts from Ten56. There's a lot in that song to say about vocals.

The band name is pronounced as ten fifty-six, it's the police code for attempted suicide, and something that the singer, Aaron Matts, unfortunately has some history with. He grew up in the city about 10 minutes from where I live, and is one of the best vocalists out there right now. I'm glad to see him getting some love on the channel, hopefully this will be the first of many!

I normally don't like mixes like this at all. But there's just something about this song and how it's written that really calls for something abrasive and uncomfortable which is exactly what this sound makes me feel lmao. I'm not a professional mixer by any means but as someone who's learning and does a lot of demos for my band, I'm absolutely baffled and fascinated by my conflicted feelings of enjoying this and being disoriented by it at the same time

One detail I really love about this song is that after he says "open the keys(?) to the gates of my mind" he stops doing that muffled sounds with his vocals. The guitars also open up at this part and stop playing more muted.
