If you lose thats all good. As for why it's continually increasing difficulty is showing how hard humanity is fighting back as you get into the heart of their strongholds. But yeah would be nice if you could choose.

Every single roguelike has scaling difficulty as an option, here they decided to make it not an option just because of lore?... I don't like it... Also the scaling difficulty means that after you beat a book, even if you go back to it for fun you still play on hard, so you will never play a "chill" game after the difficulty goes too high... that means you can also not try trash chars because the game becomes to hard at some point...

@@Sifd I do not disagree with that at all. Not a fan of forces difficulty since I am more casual on games any more. Either way it is fun watching you play these games and I look forward to more content on general!
