I am trying to get into shadow priest this expansion. I love the class fantasy and it is really fun to play. HOWEVER, the class is so frustrating to play. The amount of hardcast this class needs to do damage and the fact that both of its heavy hitters (void eruption and void torrent) are hard cast abilities is astounding. I get to watch other casters like frost mages run around instant casting 90% of their spells without a care in the world while i am a silenced/shadow locked punching bag half the time lmao. Any that is the end of my noob shadow priest rant. I am hoping to learn lots from your channel and appreciate the help! :)

wow dude if you're struggling to cast two spells then you really better not start playing priest. (but actually when you cast them and you got procs, you better have a few piano lessons behind your shoulders, because you will have to press buttons for almost every global cooldown, don't forget that in real cases you will still have to move, switch to add, or press save abilities:D)

@@mooncult88 You clearly haven't played much arena. Good luck getting 2 long casts off against UH/FURY/MW/ROGUE comps before your team mates cooldowns are over.

@@RobertoVillaLobby Yeah thats insane, i main SP... it's so frustrating, in solo shuffle, i'm always against 3 melee lobby... when u have WAR + DK , you can't absolutly cast any spell... u just do ur instant spell. that doesnt make damage, and void torrent, can be kick easily , so almost impossible to channel fully. So it's annoying and frustrating. I wish we had more instant spell.

@@SamzSongz Solo Shuffle is a broken toy for melee meta chasers. Play 3's with a good warlock / resto shaman and you will destroy them 🙂

Briefly tried the buffs in skirmish and blitz yesterday. Damage seems completely off the hook when rifting. Trying ranked with affliction this evening, that should be completely unhealable if affliction wasn't nerfed.

Hopefully it doesn’t make them end up getting nerfed. A lot of times blizz will buff something and then nerf if worse than it was before the buffs. I really wish mind blast got a 100% buff though. If it’s a hard cast with a fairly long recharge, it should actually do noticeable damage.

I play feral and my caster alt is a spriest. I've played in a few blitz games as your build and if people let me cast it's jover. When I saw these changes I thought it was a joke and like there's no way these will go though.

@@xXDevilsSpawnXx YEA we can do big damage but the issue especially in blitz is we r 1 of the weaker blitz classes but in arena we are good and in pve we r bad so the buffs will help arena out alot bgb alittle and pve alittle

I liked the buffs, but to be honest, I know that a LOT of people say that SP is kinda trash, but I still pump… I never liked the Archon build… people just shut you down way too easy, I’ve been playing VW since the beginning and I’m having a blast of fun, most os the lobbys topping dmg ! Some lobbys are harder than the others ? For sure, but I still pump. Idk, I dont see SP as bad as those guys are saying… what is annoying is that freaking rating cap… I’m current stuck at 2049 CR and just cant get higher… anyway, thanks for the videos as aways man !

The Mind Blast buff is still a joke compared to what Affliction Lock’s Shadow Bolt does. Mind Blast will still deal laughable damage. I believe both Mind Blast and Shadow Word Death should get at least a 40% buff. I’m curious to see how Void Blast will look combined with Dark Ascension, Mastermind, and Ire. Anyway, the changes are a step in the right direction, and I hope things will keep improving.

mindblast and death for sure are VERY weak but that doesnt seem to matter we have damage in other places at the moment that crank. yes they need a buff but in order to buff those they will nerf others. so ill take the instant damage buffs and wait on casted buffs later. which is better for us atm anyways since casting is rough

Archon just hasn't felt good for most of the season for arenas. and any builds work in blitz. its a BG. and archon halo hits every1 and everything so seems good to ppl. atm im 3kmmr in Blitz and i can say any build works

lol, if its op in high end they need to nerf. Class balancing must be balanced arround playing your class / spec perfectly or its not fair for those who play a class / spec they didn't choose to have a lower skillcap. People would want their class skillcap to just be increased and blizzard wont want to rework entire class/spec to make them higher skillcap.

I agree to a point, if they only balance around the top 1% that means 99% of the player base has a different experience and thats how a game declines. Id rather more people play and balance more towards the mid lvl or else pvp declines. So I agree to an extent but u cant just balance around the best or else most ur players could not enjoy ur game and thats how we lose player participation

Nah, higher skill cap means harder to play, so better players should be rewarded. There's no reason a class that requires alot of utility, dots and uptime should be outclassed by a class that presses 3 butttons

@@gagecraig934 Yes there is a reason. The reason is simple : I didn't choose that my class be made easier than other. For exemple, I play paladin since the End of WoD and it used to be one of the hardest class to play with alot of utility and hard choices to make to win games. But they decided to make it super easy and 3 buttons to play. Did i choose that ? no. So why should I be penalized for them making my class easy ? I have mastered it to its full extent over 7 years. I cant reroll because all my rewards (mog) are locked on my paladin. Why should i be forced to play another class like monk when paladin used to do what monks do now.

@@mortalux your mogs aren't locked since they added warband. Now any plate wearer, will have the mogs unlocked. I've been using alts to help get mogs. I switched to spriest after maining rogue and druid for a long time. They made balance druid pretty boring after probably shadowlands. I didn't really enjoy it in dragon flight either. So I decided to main spriest this patch and I've enjoyed it quite a bit. They made mage pretty easy as well, it's always been a backup main for me. But I don't find myself enjoying it as much anymore. I'd rather play a complex class that feels rewarding, even if that means jumping in with 0 knowledge and getting my ass handed to me until I learn to play. I just feel like the reward should be more rewarding for playing something with more complexity.

@@gagecraig934 best mogs are not account bound, mage tower, elite sets, etc. Also the issue is the plate only. The only classes similar to paladin are rogue and monk which aren’t plate. Nobody wants to go from a paladin to a warrior (just a paladin without the holy part) or to a death knight (just plant vs zombies). Playing a monk or a rogue has always been feeling like resetting my account progress. Like I just lost everything but my mounts and toys which are worthless to me. Might as well play another game.

Ive quit running spriest in arenas all together. I run disc 2s. Gave up on ss. I only ever win 3 rounds and dont get any rating. Stuck around 1200 in 2s with disc but its partially because i only have spriest pvp gear. I need more mastery as disc. But i already crafted 3 spriest jewelry, have conq gear, and warmode gear. 🙃

@@eddphobia a person who knows how far shadow has fallen. You're far too optimistic about shadow even in this video. These buffs are a small fraction of what we need. Even your 30% suggestion for Mind Blast and SWD are far too conservative. After watching the video, my original comment still stands true. These buffs will barely be noticeable come Tuesday because 10% of a meagre amount of damage is not noteworthy.

Void bolt is so fking boring both aesthetically and inserting that into our hugely bloated rotation. it's big damage but i almost never run eruption. Excited for SW:D to hit for 165k instead of 150k lol Archon was never good in PvP compared to void, even when you werent focused. i'd like to see SP be more beginner friendly and not just good only if youre already a good player. it's easy to do big damage if you're unfocused but otherwise it's hell, at least until they become really good at juking.
