The bite was insane as we chummed up grouper in 16' of water and had them skyrocketing baits like kingfish! What an awesome day!!!! tampabayfishing...

Thats insane!!! I have seen AJ's come to the top in 220ft but have only caught a Grouper on an outrigger bait once. That was a pile you guys had out there 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@clintonsing16744 жыл бұрын
Before it fell apart in a storm use too go to an old weather tower about 10 miles out and get grouper and snapper like that but they hit the bait around the tower itself. Even caught a few on lures only problem was you had to get the bait within a yard of the pilings to get a bite so we had to use heavy gear no weight . still lose most of the bigger fish but got a few keeper gags (biggest a 37 inch) but a lot of little ones.

Can the bait left over after Chad get out the live well be put back into the live well instead of tossing into the bay

Last couple videos on catching bait....great stuff!! What flats in general west of Skyway will hold white bait? Launching out of Tierra Verde and I'm new to fishing Tampa Bay.
@TampaBayFishingChannel4 жыл бұрын
The flats that run along the skyway will be holding bait.

Hey guys. Just ordered the chartreuse 1oz 10pck jigs. Was looking at the swing jigs and just a question on them. Shopping for them are you only selling a single one of those for 12 bucks and not a pack? Thanks, looking forward to getting them and putting them to use. In june we were going to the keys but since there shut down we might come to the tampa area. If so would love to meet up with you guys to say hello. Thanks Ed & Peggy

How do you guys find grouper spots? Mark structure on bottoms and try baits? Such as 16’ spot outside of channel?
@edlynch76444 жыл бұрын
Great video do you use a long 6-8'leader and how do you attach Thanks
@TampaBayFishingChannel4 жыл бұрын
About 6’ is what we use and I use an improved Albright knot to attach to the braid.

Noticed there was NO grass in the net. Do you make sure to set up next to the grass to draw the bait in but throw over sand?
@biggiebruce724 жыл бұрын
Good question
@TampaBayFishingChannel4 жыл бұрын
No in this area the grass isn't too bad. It is more of a stringy type of grass. So I throw in the grass

First let me say thank you for all the great videos! I'm a long-time subscriber and I've learned a lot from watching them. I do have one question for you though and it doesn't necessarily pertain to this video in particular. Could you please describe your "big boy" pole setup? Do you use the same light line/light leader? If not could you please describe it? Thanks

@@TampaBayFishingChannel In your earlier videos you were using braid 15-20. Is it significantly better to use 8 -10 instead and is it really what it needs to pull legal size gag our of the hole?
@TampaBayFishingChannel4 жыл бұрын
@@georgeg8130 we have never used 15# or 20# braid. I have used 8# and Chad has used 10# for as long as we have fished together. It is the 20# fluoro that is getting us the most bites.

@rogercollins34 жыл бұрын
@@chadkloft8836 They both have a place on my plate man. If I had to eat just one fish for the rest of my life, it would be grouper. I do however love me a big old side of red snapper marinated up just right and grilled up on the grill. I get a big fillet and marinate it in orange/lime juice, with onion, garlic, scotch bonnet chili peppers, and cilantro. Take it out, pat it dry, season it up and grill that puppy, basting with the leftover marinade. It's some really good eats.
