Insane Trident electric recumbent fat trike! (recumbent trike, Trident Terrain, fat trike)

Here it is - the next ridiculous project, and this time it is a trike!
I've been wanting to get hold of a recumbent fat trike for a long time, and I seized the opportunity when I found this gem going for a song on Ebay.
Here is the introductory video to this Trident Terrain custom e-fat trike, which I hope to turn into a series of vlogs and adventure ride videos over the next few months!

This kind of usage wood be nice if the rear hub was enclosed Rollover with nothing exposed? Full suspension is absolutely the way to go with a larger battery to increase range…is my personal need. The rear fender is an excellent idea adapted from a motocross bike! But fenders on the front clearly a need for several reasons. Protecting the chain from sand by eliminating derailleurs is big!

With all that weight & torque on your boom you are running the risk of your frame or welds failing. You would be smart to move the battery back to your main frame in front of the back wheel.

Thanks for the advice. I'm pretty competent with regular bikes per se, but the trike was purchases as is, as an experimental vehicle. It is in storage at the moment pending a move and I want to get back working on it again as soon as possible. I could do with more advice about the front suspension on this model too!

@@IceReef You would be best to contact Rudi at Trident Nederlands as I only know of one other converted Terrain 26 that was done by the owner in the U.S. I believe.

I don't think the front suspension issues were ever sorted out......it was never officially released as far as I know. My terrain is a 4 wheeler with a 1000w 48v brushless motor over the rear axle.

Mon S There are some issues with this setup which I am speaking to Trident about now - it is only a prototype setup so let me get their feedback before I make another video so that I can make sure the information I give you is useful

Do not be deceived, these are great, I have one... But, do not take on curbs or elevated driveway entrances at any thing less than 90 degrees, straight on. You will fall as I have, crack ribs and be out of commission for a while. Trident Terrain Fat trike Electric Assist

Hi Richard...I assumed that would be the case...the irony is that you could do this with a fat bike which is a far less stable proposition...Probably something to do with the weight distribution. I haven't yet got round to riding it properly yet off road, as I am still yet to find the time to sort out the issues with the prototype suspension / wheel alignment.
