why on earth would you ride a bike thru saltwater?

I recently looked at a friend's ebike that has the same (looking) suntour parts shown in the thumbnail here but not the same bike. The crank, controls, display, etc are all the same. Anyways, this bike is getting the e21 code because the torque sensor on the crank got caught on something that ripped the wire out and broke off some plastic tabs. I took it apart and resoldered everthing on the sensor, and the error code went away. I want to replace the entire sensor but it seems the only ones i can find that will ship to me are the grey colored ones. One guy has the matching black one used but won't ship to me. So far, the only difference i've found in all these sensors is 4 wire vs 6 wire plug. I need a 4 wire and I see them available online. Are these gray colored ones real OEM parts made by suntour or soem garbage knockoff? My other question is, are all the "4 wire" plug torque sensors the same and should work with all these suntour HESC systems as long as the plug matches?

3 years after you posted this video and I have a similar issue apart from my entire cable has been split in half. did you manage to find any where that sells a replacement?

I've had 2 of these come apart where the bottom post par attaches to the top part. Not sure what is causing it.

I hope you realize that every single thing you did has individual torque values that are supposed to be used. I hope your bike stays together and doesn’t wear out prematurely

I have just bought one with 1200miles on the clock and no scratch whatsoever for 650. What a lovely bike. The only thing I need to work on is the axon qlock axle as someone lost the spring that's meant to push those funny pieces out to lock the axle in place. Good value for money with lovely spec

This kind of usage wood be nice if the rear hub was enclosed Rollover with nothing exposed? Full suspension is absolutely the way to go with a larger battery to increase range…is my personal need. The rear fender is an excellent idea adapted from a motocross bike! But fenders on the front clearly a need for several reasons. Protecting the chain from sand by eliminating derailleurs is big!

I have had this bike for 3 years, this part has failed TWICE I am a rider with disabilities so only ride on forest tracks and lanes so it doesnt get any kind of rough use/punishment I would avoid this bike like the plague IF I had known of these issues done less than 300 miles!! I do more than that in a month on my road bikes

i have same seat now it is shaking. By the time it become gap in movable joints this causing wobbles the seat. how can i rapair it any of clue

Bottle brush set is useful for cleaning and regreasing the internal parts. Cheap too. And the other end of a chain brush has the bristle length to get right inside the spring.

Where do you start when you want to adjust the tightness? How tight do you screw the screw? You state that you have no line drawn, well, how do you come up with the line?

This bike it's not MTB bike .so don't go to MTB trails . This is more likely crosscountry bike....

If the chain comes off, the sensor will be destroyed, 4 sensors replaced to date on this bike all because of this crap design

Don't know if anyone else caught this but the spring came out with the sleeve on the bottom and you put it back on top ;-)

I know these bikes are at the cheap end of the range but they still cost plenty. Had mine about 4 years now and very happy with it. Occasional power cuts but normally fixed by jiggling a connection or the display. Yesterday though I had complete blank screen and power cut after 10-50 seconds. Nothing I could do to fix it apart from keep rebooting the battery button. Very frustrated and found this useful site (thanks Ice Reef). Today I tried again and it worked fine...eureka! It must have somehow reset itself overnight. The only thing I can narrow it down to is that I was charging yesterday on a hot day (30+) so maybe the battery overheated and some fail-safe kicked in. Fingers crossed it stays fixed, because I was dreading taking it to Halfords.

I loved my electric bike until it failed twice in 1500 miles . Just under 1000 pounds to fix,no help from Raleigh. Gone to the scrap man.The whole support system for ebike parts is shot to bits . Everything is over priced if available at all. You can buy a new microwave for fifty quid but a crank sensor is 100 pounds used on eBay .
