Hi mate, I’ve got a troopy landcruiser manual 1996. When I put the 4wd mode sometime it works, and sometime it doesn’t. I have no way to be 100% sure that the h4 or L4 is on because there is not indicator on the dashboard. Do you have an idea of how to be sure that it’s on before going on the sand track?

There should be a green 4wd light on the dash next to the hand brake light if not the light is broken. There isn't a light for H4 or L4 you will know when it is in Low Range because you will not be able to go faster then 40km/h. Another thing to check if your free wheeling hubs on the front wheels are turned to Lock to engage the front wheels

How you going? Can I ask how much weight to you have on the roof racks? Does it ever worry you with huge tyres and lift and a roof top tent on top being top heavy?

Hey Wade I have a 75 troopy which is getting resto work. Can you tell me what guage aluminium panels you used and how you attached to body, also can you give me more info on the headlights you've installed ,Regards Mark

I don't know what gauge the aluminium is but its like 8mm thick and I attached it using tek screws. The headlights are jeep 7 inch led headlights can be found on eBay for around $200

Is it scary to take it offroad with no sway bars? can you feel the difference a roof top tent makes? Does the troopy in general feel bad offroad?

Clayton Roberts nah not at all but notice a huge difference in articulation and troopys just look top end heavy, the rooftop tent is always on there so you get use to how in handles offroad

Yeah for sure, I was checking online for a few months on gumtree and carsales for stock ones and I'd build it up. They don't exist in North America. I was planning to head over and buy one, drive it around for a vacation then ship it back. But I went to Mexico instead. I'd prefer left hand drive but they are pretty rare to find, they only come from Europe and Central America. Maybe I'll just get right hand drive. Thanks for the link I'll check it out.
