Oh yeah, our night trains are like you described. Better use Intercity trains where it is possible (it is also not a fast ride). But still there are no intercity trains from Lviv to Odesa (too long distance). And the problem with booking was anticipated - that was not official website of Ukrzaliznytsya (official site is also available in English). Sorry for that stress. But in Ukraine everything could be solved;) And in Ukrainian trains it is very common to ask co-passengers to exchange the booked places. You should not worry about that;)

I also agree with that. But unfortunately the head of Odessa is Russian by nationality. Moreover, he is a member of a political party to enemy to Ukraine - Opposition Platform for Life. It’s a paradox, but I don’t understand why the inhabitants of Odessa, a Ukrainian city, choose the head of the city, a person enemy to Ukraine? Just from the outside it may seem that the city is predominantly Russian, not Ukrainian, and this is very sad. Therefore, I am not surprised if I see in English the word "Odessa" is written with two "s".

There's a wall in the picture :D Also it doesn't make sense if the numbers are just going up and every compartment has 2 beds... so in one compartment there are 1+2, 3+4,....,13+14,15+16 You should buy tickets directly from the Ukranian Railways. They also have a booking engine that you can switch to English. The agencies overcharge you.

Hey, actually from what you show on the screen, 14 and 15 are in separate cabins and the white thing is supposed to be an aisle in between seats 13/14 and 15/16, so the seat number is actually correct and is according to the booking website. Hope it makes it easier for the future train adventures in Ukraine hah

You need to push the top of the faucet down to get water. The side control is temperature control. It's a water-saving faucet; the controller is spring-loaded and will return to the off position after a few seconds.

I've lived in Ukraine 🇺🇦.. I did this route 7-8 times in the summer weekends.. The seat 💺 map is confusing unless you picture the walkways 😯... I like to go in 3rd class though.. Usually about $5-$7 each way plus $1.50 sheets if you need.. Love your Ukraine series.. Go back in midsummer when you get a chance. It's incredible.. And 🙏 for Ukraine 🇺🇦 when you 🙏 🍻😘

You are real heroes Taking such the long trip was not easy High-speed "Intercity" trains (Korean-made - Hyundai) run from Kyiv to the big cities (and back): Lviv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporozhye The average travel time is 6-7 hours (seats only)

oh yeah, if that was really £50 for both, then it's super-cheap comparing to UK prices too ... I travel London-Manchester-London (it's just 210 miles distance) at least twice a month to see my partner in Manchester, and, believe me, travelling by train here in the UK is such a rip-off🤬 if I am lucky I may find something £80-100 for a round trip... and it's not for 1st class, obviously, and it's just for a SEAT... I can't even imagine how much it would cost me an overnight one...

Як прибирають ті туалети невідомо але там завжди смердить . І взагалі по розміру вони такі малі і незручні що проектанти вже могли б спланувати щось і краще . Нехай було б одне напів купе але щоб туалети були більшими і зручнішими. А про інвалідів у возиках і вільний доступ до туалетів з широкими дверима то взагалі знак питання .

I guess you should have asked for the TV remote control by that train attendant coming to you (otherwise it was her duty to offer it). I used to do it in E.Europe 10-15 years ago in some hotels coz "guests regulary lose them".

@@dabbleandtravel In case you will continue your adventures in E.Europe please take initiative. In some situation you should ask for something being expected by Wesis to be a natural thing. You will get everything but after "registration". I am 100% sure you would have got much more for 1st class incl. water, beer etc. but the attendat took it for herself becouse "those foreigners did not need it!"

@@bodypositiv6566 Well these overnight trains are never marketed as "1st class" or "2nd class" etc, there's no such grade here. It's just 3 types of accommodation - 2 beds, 4 beds and 6 beds with no doors. And there's no such thing as beer or coffee or sandwich included in the price, only tee which you'd better not drink due to quality of water. But Intercity trains are another story, you can have a good coffee there.
