Thing is, those calculations show that you're getting roughly 19.3% of the xp passively that you would be vs actively. So you figure ~5hrs passive = ~1hr active. For someone working 9-5 (plus commute time), that means they could get the equivalent of 3+ hrs of active grinding while they're at work (8hrs), driving (1-2hrs), and asleep (8hrs). That makes the game much more accessible to people with full-time lives

This is how it’s best approached. I’ve been hearing a lot of less than positive things from players about passive XP. These players are also the ones who have been grinding 8+ hours a day since launch. I just got back from a 3 day trip. Only had an hour each day to reset my passive activity, and gained several levels in a skill I just don’t care to grind. I couldn’t be happier with the progress I’ve seen afk so far. When you can only log a couple of hours it makes up a huge percentage of your xp gains

This. I work 13 hrs a day, 45 min commute each way, 5 days on 5 days off. On my working days im getting a whole 24hrs worth of active grinding over the course of thise 5 days. Thats not bad at all. Not to mention a wide and kids I spend most of my time with on my days off 😂

Don’t really get the point of this video. The passive xp is literally for when you’re not there hence passive, so it’s great when you’re at work ect. Thought it’d be common sense actively training it will be higher
@Sephiroso.2 ай бұрын
Then you didn't listen to the video. He said instead of using afk skilling for combat skills, just go to a hostile area where you can be semi active. There are things you can do to make sure you won't get logged out and you'll be getting way more exp than what afk skilling gets you.

I think we should get the earliest accessible passive, and use that whenever afk until we level to the 50s which we can unlock the latest passive for better passive exp down the road, if that makes sense.

Graphic, my biggest issue is hitting rare drops for better gear. what have you noticed is the best method getting Rare/Epic gear? is a rush to Act 3 a good way to get those weapons?

You need gear in all three episodes. It's just luck. But as you're training anyway you will passively get it.

@@Sephiroso. No, because you'll still eventually get to the higher levels where your exp/hr will still go up, you won't see those low 9 exp drops.. combat passive xp seems tied to your gear level, I think you get more if you do it ranged and exploiting weakness. Alternatively I had 2Kish/hour doing first divination tier yesterday. 2K/h roughly seems the rate for lower tier passive xp. Maybe it scales hard.
@gatorbait93852 ай бұрын
@@nathanielnizard2163 I've noticed the combat passive is just based on how many you kill. Better gear equals more kills. I've forgotten to switch gear to the right episode before and got awful exp because the kills took forever.
@freshairkaboom81712 ай бұрын
If this is supposed to only deal with people feeling FOMO for not playing, getting bonus exp for being logged off (rested exp) is much better than passive activities IMO. It won't dissuade botting whatsoever.

It gets even crazier comparing detective raids, that gives Combat+Detective XP per 5 mobs you kill, its too OP. You should make a video on raids, it needs nerf ASAP.

"Passive XP is pretty bad", well of course. You're not going to get rewarded for not playing. At least you get something whilst not playing. They could simply do away with it all together then it wouldn't exist so it would be even worse.

how to passively train?
@warshal22292 ай бұрын
Unlock it with knowledge points when you reach level 20 in a skill
@projectgorgonfan2 ай бұрын
its a little different depending on what skill you want to passively train. But you always need to reach level 20 in it at minimum & spend a knowledge point to unlock the mechanic. For combat you just need to hit level 20, unlock the passive activity and start fighting the passive leveling enemies. For something like Woodcutting it's a little more complicated as you need a specific tool + bunch of consumable baskets to do it
@ss4gogetaz2 ай бұрын
@@projectgorgonfan at least the consumables like the baskets are pretty cheap though. like 2 silver for 100, but that is still silver spent.
@remz57222 ай бұрын
In this clip you are killing 1 bear every 31,5 sec approximately. so 2 bears in just over a minute. Why are you using 3 bears pr. minute in your calculations? If we assume the time is linear, which it isn't, you kill 114 bears in 1 hour which at 468xp = 53 352 total xp. which is 30 888xp less than you state in your video. Most likely it will be even lower, as you need to walk between bears, and if there are other players doing the same thing, which there often is, there will be even more downtime. I would assume a more realistic estimate to be between 30 000 - 40 000xp/hour. Other than that, comparing passive xp (which is meant for AFK purposes) is like comparing a Ducati to a bicycle. you do not use passive training while actively playing the game xD
