This video is about the 1996 Alfa Romeo 155 V6 Ti used by the Italian driver Marco Gramenzi during some hillclimb races here in Italy. This car is probabily fitted with an almost straight piped exhaust since it's a lot louder the the one I saw last March.
It's moved by a 690RC 2.5 litre V6 engine which is able to produce a max power of around 490bhp and reach the insane speed rotation of 12000 rpm. Hear the sound of the V6 engine screaming through the Italian mountains.

Thanks for all these amazing videos Bozzy. Watching this incredible Alfa takes me back to the early 90's. I was a massive fan of the DTM. Sunday nights have never been the same since. Sat in front of the TV glued to Eurosport watching Larini taking it to the might of Mercedes AMG and Bernd Schneider, Kurt Thiim and the rest of the boys.

How the hell could f1 not make their v6 engines sound like this??? All they had to do was make the engines sound like this and the whole world wouldnt be on their ass for how dumb they are far ruining f1. That simple.

+Ryan Spalding Amen. Although they've done more than just the engine if you ask me ... the tires are the biggest problem along with the ridiculous fuel limits... and the testing restrictions. They never come near qualifying pace in the race even at the end when they are on low fuel. That needs to be addressed for sure.

FormulaKimball Ya i feel f1 puts too much pointless restrictions on it. How about making it less about how well you can manage fuel and more on your ability to actually race. And then you have a bunch of ignorant people who wont listen to anybody else but themselves and you lose millions of fans. I know if i was f1 I would give what the people fucking want! If they want v12 engines ill give it to them, I mean its retarded to over think it to where you want a v6 because of its fuel efficiency or whatever stupid reason they picked the v6.

+Ryan Spalding Yep. Especially the silly "cost reduction" pretext when this V6 is twice as expensive as the V8 was. I'm with you - I'd just specify a displacement and let the teams use whatever they want (V6, V8, V10, V12), plus a smaller displacement if you want to use a turbo. No rev limits, no fuel restrictions except maybe a max fuel tank size... but let them use it up however they see fit. Everyone already knows there's a sweet spot in terms of starting with less fuel than you'd need for 100% flat out laps (the weight savings is faster even when driving at less than 100%) but again, let the teams figure that out and leave some leeway and mystery (also driver skill) to it.

FormulaKimball Exactly. Teams just want to win so why not let them pick what they want? Id love for it to be how the le mans race is run let the team do whatever the hell they want because in the end the best team will win and just set the a proper fuel ratio and youre good. Because having too much of something will hurt so all the cars will be have their pros and cons. There wont just be some god car. Also instead of making it all about the driver lets make it all about your team's engineers and then partly driver. I dont like the individuality of f1 racing nowadays along with their other crap. Like le mans racing is just that and look at how popular the le mans race is. People love how open it is, and how much engineering goes into it.

+Ryan Spalding That's what I miss about F1 too, yeah. I don't get excited about a racing series that is all about restrictions... year after year more restrictions. I want to see the best cars in the world completing the race in the fastest possible time... if the cars are ruinously expensive there better be pace on the track to show for it. If there are good battles along the way, then great... but I hate this artificial approach in trying to "produce close racing" with overthinking the rules and having so many counterproductive things changing all the time. With Le Mans, some of the prototypes are almost silent these days and yet you can just take one look at them and see they are absolutely flying, on the limit. Pounding out fast laps stint after stint, for 24 hours. That's pretty cool... and if you want a buzz from the meaty engine noise there's always the Corvettes or the Z4 :)

It is not Busso V6 engine. Busso V6 engines had 60 angle. This V6 had 90 angle with many improvements from Alfa Romeo engineers. Alfa Romeo took this engine from Lancia thema which had V6 90 angle. Alfa Romeo engineers want a V6 engine with 90 angle because it had lower center of weight. Also with the wider angle alfa Romeo was able to put bigger airbox

I remember when I first saw this car. Back in those days, this was nothing special, so it would seem (when awesome becomes the norm). Everybody had insane aero and everything seemed real cool. I was so excited for the future. Unfortunately, things would not play out as I imagined. Yes we have amazing machines today, but at what cost? It's just not the same.

Bao In realtà il motore era un Lancia PRC 2.5L V6 a 90* completamente rilavorato con tecnologie da F1 (microfusione di alluminio, testata 4 valvole pneumatiche in lega alluminio-magnesio) costruito dalla inglese Cosworth e controllato da centraline Bosch tedesche. Di Italiano questo affare aveva solo le pinze dei freni Brembo e la carrozzeria esterna di latta dell'Alfa. Ah...ammortizzatori tedeschi Bilstein.

Leonardo mincucci Si ok, ma considera che, questa in particolare del '96, montava all'epoca e monta ancora oggi un motore V6 con angolo di 90* derivato dal Lancia PRC con gruppo testata-valvole costruito dalla Cosworth e controllato da una centralina Bosch... cioé di Alfa Romeo a livello di motore non c'é nulla.
