Thanks YY, really helpful to hear your perspective on your MBA journey! You mentioned that INSEAD is known more as a consulting school especially with all the case preps you do. Do you think the program is equally as helpful for those who want to pivot into tech coming from the consumer goods industry?

It's definitely not as helpful as consulting but relatively helpful. 1) sourcing of opps: there are some structured recruiting programs (Mainly Samsung and Amazon based on 2023 report) and some one-off openings in the career portal (i.e. they have a partnership with career office) so it was decent for my year; 2) getting an interview: this is the biggest gap between consulting and tech. Tech overall cares a bit more about whether you have relevant functional experience (marketing/program management/strategy&ops/finance/sales) for the role with the exception of rotation programs. I feel generally FMCG background should give you quite transferrable skillsets (even without an MBA?); 3) interview: it's not as standardised as consulting but case/mock interviews do help since interviewing is a skill itself...

Hey firstly recommend the other video kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHbTmZl6gs6meLM if you haven't seen it as for me, return is not just quantitative. :) Then if you focus on the financial ROI, it really varies depending on your career path and location. For example, for those with similar loans, I know people at Agoda Bangkok who have paid back everything while people at MBB London still paying loans because of the different tax and cost of living.
