Im one of the lucky few people to know how/where to find these in nature, my dad showed me, we've dug into "nests"(for lack of a better word) and found dozens of them, one time we dug in and all the pupal cases had fully formed beetles in them, i have a picture of me with about 20 fresh beetles, and lots of good photos, i love the little hairs they have on the tops of their butts! We always put them back and cover them up with sticks and bark so they dont get dug up by racoons. I found a pupal case one time that was about ⅓ normal size, unfortunately the larva inside was dead, my guess was malnutrition

hercules beetles are actually one of my favourite insects because unlike other bugs, they are big and easy to spot and generally are so cool looking. I always have a feeling of smaller bugs going into my nose, eyes, moth, ears, hair and clothes at times, but it's impossible for these, they also won't attack u for no reason and their design is so genuinely OP and high stats. I love the final beetle stage the most.

You’re a pretty brave guy for holding such a creatar! Right before their cocoon stage, their bodies are massive looking. Once they’re finally full grown as a beetle, their super tough exoskeleton, large loud wings, and massive horn are all very scary looking even though beetles aren’t necessarily dangerous to humans.
