Insects swarm car - Amazing

Footage from the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. During our family holiday in 1996/7, we had parked the car and had gone for a short walk up the cliffs. When we came back, we found that our car had become a hotspot for these giant wood lice - sea slaters??? I guess the vehicle was nice and cosy, there were lots of them around the beach prior to the walk, but we never expected this.

They're not bugs....wood lice are crustaceans, like crabs and lobsters. They are related to pill bugs (also not bugs despite the name). Still disturbing, but less gross than actual insects would be.
