I don't think Ill ever be upset about a canceled figure. I'm not a heavy collector, but I question some of these planned figures like the "Chrome Clody". The market corrects itself. Marvel bloat was a thing.

@@tyronetarvin2310 The clock may actually be ticking on that. No going out of business entirely per se but more of a shrinkage back to where they use to be. They had their boom especially with Marvel/Iron Man and now many of those collectors have bailed or simply cannot afford the hobby anymore due to economics.

Right. I'm sure most collectors would prefer a focus on OT/PT figures over something like Ahsoka. I have a feeling they are saving the figures you speak of for dire times. They should probably start making them now.

I think they need to really think about what they release! I won’t be surprised if they announce something and see how many preorders they get before deciding to go forth with production!!! Maybe they will start a polling system with three or four figures on which collectors will purchase. WHO knows! Sometimes I cancel a figure do to budget or review!!!

I think clarity is best, and being upfront with your customers. Sideshow lists so many figures HT previewed and its been ages. Fish or cut bait.

It can definitely be argued whether or not it was a release anyone really needed above the endless list of figures and characters we all want that they have never made yet, but are you getting Chrome Cody? I am as I already have the regular Chrome Clone, and I wonder if someday they would do a Chrome Rex, as it would complete a kind of cool Chrome "squad".

As long as the Clone Wars Kenobi and Darth Revan are safe I’m fine with it. But I really don’t like precedent this is setting. Out of principal, I believe Hot Toys should leave figures alone after putting them up for PO. But tbh I don’t see this happening very often or to anything I have even the slightest interest in getting

If whichever place you pre-ordered from offers refunds on an NRD for cancelled figures, then I don't see an issue with it. Obviously it sucks to see a figure you want have it's release cancelled, but shit happens.

Wellllllll… between Sideshow saying you better pre-order or face the secondary market and now we have HT here saying, “oh look, not enough pre-orders. Looks like we’re canning these figures… And did you all see what we did there?” I guess now when they announce figures, one needs to hope a certain number of people also share the same interest enough to pre-order. I had one of those said figures on PO. I was reassured by my wife that there will be other figures… heh heh. Now that is a true statement!

TBH with fewer movies being made that’s going to translate to limited figures going forward. We will probably see more obscure figures being released. Who knows?

HT will announce Deadpool and Wolverine figures in thr next few months thats s fact, but other than that at least until next year, i expect more 2.0 or Artisan figs. They can always announce new versions for older figures like a new BVS Superman or msybe a new MK 50 or suit up Tony figures etc

I think it may be phase 1 of them phasing out as a company. Theyve made every Spiderman, every iron man, every boba fett, etc. they may be seeing that theyre running out of characters to do that people will buy. May be an early escape route for them as a company. I say by 2030 Hot Toys will be OUT! Just my personal opinion

Wasn't interested in these 2 figures. And don't think they generated a lot of interested from the community at large. Numbers were probably way too low to do a production run on them. I also don't see hot toys start cancelling a lot of stuff now. Maybe the odd mis here and there. Hopefully if it does happen again it's not the one project where I might be one of the few interested in it and really want it.

I think HT should be canceling more and focusing on better quality for the ones they will move forward with. Why even bother with another Rex (from Ahsoka) or a figure that appears on screen for like 5 seconds.

Because there IS a market (Star Wars duh), there's cost of production and therefore canceling because these things are started molds made sculpts done tailoring both design and execution etc before the movie's out (so how can they or you know about reactions and therefore demand) and the fanboys react either way, external judgement on an otherwise well-made fig and so on and so on. And just make 'em gooder isn't much of an argument/pov.
