The problem is at 5:50: you must SOLDER the wire to the center probe ONLY without contacting the surrounding prongs; they will short out and possibly catch your TV on fire . Remember to keep the spark plug HIGHER than the TV!

I am an electrical engineer. This is nonsense. A spark plug is nothing more than an electrical conductor that does not make direct contact with its case so that when the plug is screwed in and a high enough voltage is applied to the conductor, it will jump the gap to the case and ground, causing a spark. A spark plug could possibly act as a monopole antenna depending on how the receiver is wired but the point is that the length will correspond to a frequency and only channels around or on that frequency will be picked up. What does "all the channels in the world" even mean? Every RF frequency known to man? This is click bait at its worst.

The gap is standard - 1.5 millimeters 😉, but for high temperatures, a glow plug, preferably taken from a new diesel engine, would be more suitable for you 😉🙃

@DavidEssex-fe6mx you must be doing it wrong, you sglhould be getting 284 channels. if you don't wrap both ends clockwise one end will be reverse polarity and you will only pick up half the channels. Also no reason not to go ahead and soldier it directly onto the back of your TV coaxial port that way you can be certain you have the best connection.

hm, this is a bit suspicious to me... with Champion spark plugs I can watch only analog local programs, and with Denso spark plugs only digital programs... can someone recommend something in between, so that I can watch all programs at once, without changing the spark plugs. ..
