hey Seth, I was wondering if you happen to know the rod info for that 13 fate. I am looking at getting one and cant seem to find much about them

That rod is a 7’1” medium fast rod. This one came as a combo with the origin TX reel from Academy Sports, but you can also buy just the rod separately.

Great video bro, do you have 13 fishings fate black rod its like the green one I might get it, does it have micro guides?

Yeah it’s got a similar feel to the fate black. The fate black does have micro guides and is a hair lighter than the fate green I’m using though. I have both rods and love them both for different applications.

It would be tough to use a leader with the fate black casting rod. Maybe if you use an FG knot though.

Sure that would be a good option. Braid is a little harder to cast on baitcasters if you don’t have much experience, but if you do it will be a great alternative!

How does that reel hold up with the saltwater?

I haven’t had any issues out of it. Just spray it down with freshwater after being inshore. I try to clean it and oil after heavy use though.

Hey man was wondering what size line you use with your tx2 reel and if I could go higher then the 12lb line they recommend?

I’m running 12lb stren magnathin, but you could easily run up to 16lb line without any issues. The heavier the line you put on the less casting distance you will have.
