Agreed! Tried to find a dealer here in Utah that would commit to finding me a '23 OR MT DCSB to replace my '17 and could not find anything for 6 months. Kept sending me automatic emails with ATs. Tried dealers in ID, CA, OR, WA and they all wanted out of state fees $3k and up. Even put down $500 "deposit" with a dealer in UT and asked for a refund after they disappeared for a few months, no updates. I eventually got my money back but gave up looking for a '23 OR MT DCSB. Toyota if you are listening, what's the incentive for these 3-6 month new hire "order takers" to move your vehicles or maybe it doesn't really matter from a corp. standpoint - you sell everything you can make and more? Am I the outlier that wants a specific model and 99% of the buyers will just grab anything that says Tacoma? Could you devote a portion of 1% of your customer service to those of us who are enthusiasts to get exactly what we are looking for? Am I barking up the wrong tree and should just shut-up and drive my '17 to 300k and beyond? The new 4th gen line does look really good though... good job Toyota!

I really hope that the Pre Runner will be affordable. I like it. I am a traditional pickup guy from rural southeast Virginia. I have been wanting a Toyota, but did not want the four doors. That left me with going with GMC or Chevy for a regular cab truck. I want a bed to haul things. The Pre Runner version of the upcoming Tacoma would do it for me. I look forward to see what the price will be.

​@@Offshore1977 affordable is very subjective. When you say any new Tacoma won't be affordable, what is affordable to you and what is affordable to me may be 2 different things. Also, regardless of price, these trucks will sell like hotcakes, as all Tacoma's have done, why? Because people buy things that they don't necessarily need but want, and simply, it's a Tacoma. Resell value, rep for reliability etc makes this the #1 selling midsize truck for a reason. I have now owned 2, 1 2006 and 1 2019. Love(d) both of them. But to your point specifically I do hope they are "affordable". I'm sure they will be within $5k of what they are now, equal trims of course. Obviously trailhunter n pro will be most

I had an '83 Hilux with 22r and a 5 spd manual. Had a '90 with a v6 and a 5 spd manual. Now a '21 trd off road with a 6spd manual. '24 Toyota Tacoma you can still buy with a manual trans.

Toyota's problem is that its distributors raise prices in such a way that the difference between one country and another rises to $11,000.00 USD.. impossible to keep up with a Toyota.. See the prices in Mexico vs. Central America, Ecuador, Peru.. ..etc

I wish you had done this approach to the Tundra. I have a 2010 Rock Warrior and the new Tundra just don't get it done. So I will keep my 2010. I want a real truck and at 60 I don't want a small one. My first Toyota was an 86 pickup. My second was a 97 T100. My last is the 2010 Tundra Rock Warrior. I don't want a hybrid in a truck, I don't want twin turbos in a truck. I dont want a truck that sits on the ground. I want a New Tuff Tundra V8!!!!!!!!!

My opinion is obviously different, but I couldn't design an uglier truck if I tried. There are too many lines, too many shapes, and too much going on. I personally think you can move any shape or any line a few inches in any direction, and the truck will still look the same. Too many logos. I don't need to be told 18 times I have a TRD. I much prefer my 2nd gen. I'm hopeful that after another 500,000 miles when it's time for a new Tacoma, by then car designs will scale everything back - just as years ago the Cadillac's gaudy fins got smaller, and eventually went away.

Should have kept the access cab instead of the xtracab. Also for the prerunner should have kept the leaves over the axel as under the axel leaves reduce ground clearance. Also is there a way to op-out of the push start?

Why 2.4 Turbo? I especially bought Taco 2nd with 2TR-FE because it's not diesel with turbo and overcomplicated stuff added. Bring back simple and last forever engines!

Eliminate the markup, don't use german engineering=overcomplicated design using electric motors and stop downsizing the engines! 2.4 turbo? 2TR-FE is not a beast but is reliable and I can't tell anything bad about my 2nd gen Tacoma but after driving Taco with 1GR... this is a perfect combination. Btw! Bring back V8 to Tundra!

I'm on my 4th Tacoma Sport, I want Quality, Durability, Reliability first, then i want Comfort Useability and Power next, I drive my Tacoma every day, i have commuted 67 miles each way for almost 20 years now I desperately need a truck that can pass a slow car on a 2 lane 70 mph highway, if this next sport doesn't exceed the previous models in power to get me down the road, haul things in the bed and pull a small trailer (1 jetski , 1 sled, 1 motorcycle or 1 ATV) then ill find a small truck that will.....

Still need to design Tacoma with a little more leg room in backseat on the Double Cabs !! I have a 2023 TRD Sport and from all the video's I have watched, doesn't look like they expanded the backseat legroom at all. With Tundra having So Much legroom, figure a way to give Tacoma half that leg room.

After owning seven Tacomas, my last experience on a new Tacoma TRD Pro truck was just a nightmare. Mediocre quality, massive dealer markups and now two years after the pandemic almost no inventory on lots. I think it is time to stop blaming the pandemic and chalk it up to just plain corporate greed. After being a Toyota loyalist for 30+ years and spending hundreds of thousands on vehicles, it is sadly time to move to a different brand. New Tacoma's look good and probably are good, but with artificially created supply problems, outrageous price hikes and dealer markups, Toyota has joined the ranks of all other greedy auto companies. They may have always been this way, but I expected a higher standard from a brand that seemed to care. Sad. :(

Current gen's exterior looks good, interior is a failure though (both ergonomically and design-wise). But the new one is a designer's toy in and out: too disproportional, too decorated, too plasticky. I hope it's at a least as reliable as the older one.

Still no front locker. And that screen looks like someone got lazy and mounted an iPad to the dash. The exterior looks great and I dig the disconnecting swaybar but that interior is still lacking for my taste. What's up with that wireless charger? Anyway, overall good job on the remodel

Styling is a huge hit!! The CE Sheldon Brown missed what the customer wants in power train. We WANT power. Put the V6 from the Tundra in the Tacoma then we have a really Toyota Tacoma. Sheldon is missing the trade off curve evaluation of customer power requirements.
