The Fairmeadow Tract is one of three Jospeh Eichler tracts set in Orange County California. Joseph Eichler was a prolific post-war home builder that developed over 11,000 modernist homes throughout California and worked with noted Architects such as A. Quincy Jones, Edward Emmons, Robert Anshen of Anshen & Allen , Claude Oakland and Raphael Soriano. Homeowners Brian and Missi from Birds of Ohio ( www.birdsofoh.com ) and The Imaginary House ( www.theimaginaryhouse.com ) found themselves moving from Ohio and landing in their Eichler which they have lovingly restored throughout their ownership. From the Walls of glass to the indoor-outdoor living alongside the perfect Southern California weather this has been the perfect place they've called home.

Hashtag life goals... but does the coloring editing, cinematography and music give anyone else total horror movie vibes?

no disrespect to the film, i loved it, but i think it's the music. i kept feeling like at any moment they would describe a murder that took place.

@@blazemancillas1477 seriously! Like I love that couple and I totally want to live there, but I'm also so nervous a murderer is going to jump out at any moment. Who ever edited this should definitely work in horror films.

Brilliant yet again. The cinematography is so good. I love the thorough detail shots. It's like what a good architecture magazine should do. I too am an aging hipster, but neither my job nor my home is quite as cool. 😃

Love this! We're trying to (impossibly) to simulate a mid century design in an 80's ranch tract home. Spent a ton of money ripping down walls to fall short of the aesthetic. This Eichler would be my dream home...

Eichler's designs are lighter than Frank Lyold Wright which contains lots of wood. I much prefer, but I guess Eichler's is more modern 1960s, whilst Wright in 20s up til 50s

Wright is WAY over-rated. Fallingwater is virtually a brutalist design, lol.

In most original Eichlers there was a lot of use of mahogany in the walls. They were much warmer than the modern houses u see today. The ceilings were wood and many walls were wood and slatboard.

Excellent video, beautiful house. If I had to sell, and purchase another home, an Eichler home would be my first choice. And YES. There is nothing like living in California. I would never move from here.

Just hope you don't live in or near a city run by people who won't do anything about crime and homelessness. Otherwise, these twin problems will destroy your home, too.

These homes are absolutely stunning. Grew up near an enclave of them and always wanted one. Only problem is, you live in suburban orange county, a depressive hellscape with an underlying Republican/white supremacist problem. With younger people moving in, however, the neighborhoods are getting more progressive and friendly.
@krystiansieracki6204
@krystiansieracki6204 4 күн бұрын
I dont know about friendly being used to describe progressives. Also, they will end up destroying that area once enough of them move in, also while somehow making it unaffordable to live there.

Great design and gardens … but I simultaneously get angry and cry every time I hear this type of person point out that they bought the house for 400k but it’s now worth 3 million… people who bought when everything was cheap and they realize that they can no longer afford their own if they had to buy now. Joseph Eichler is rolling in his grave and we need to find a new solution… this time huge lots and single story SFR homes will not solve the problem. Perhaps a new communal condo movement that gets a gentle density yet has great design and gardens like Eichlers? Because $300k for a buildable lot and $75k for permits mean you are down 400k before anything is built and with a ln average cost of $400 a square foot for construction that means to build an Eihcler today would cost 1.2 million at the very cheapest to build in the Bay Area
