I thought of recommending you to visit this place in northern Thailand a few weeks ago and didn’t know you have been there before and you are there now, great and interesting content, Ken.👍 The Chinese signboard at hotel reception is about shooting range for tourists. Hope you enjoy your stay there. Viel Spass!😃

Hello Ken.. Have you heard of Singkawang n Pontianak in Kalimantan (Indonesia) You can do some research on it
Please note: "Mandarin" is a Western term for a fruit, but this word means nothing in Chinese language! You can simply say: Putonghua (lingua franca of China) or Zhongguohua (national language of China)!

The troops who failed in the Chinese civil war did not fled to Thailand at first. Instead they fled to northern Myanmar. The Nationalist Party who lost the civil war and fled to Taiwan wanted them to be a power to fight back to the mainland, so they informed the troops to stay there and keep harassing China Mainland's frontier. However, in order to get the source of income, the troops started to trade drugs, which caused severe problems which are still affecting today. The Myanmar government couldn't stand such a power occupying their own country, so they asked and cooperated with the People's Liberation Army to battle with them again and drove them to the boarder between Myanmar and Thailand. Due to the uprising internation pressure, the Nationalist party eventually managed to bring a part of soldiers and relatives to Taiwan, but the rest ones were still left in Thailand. For the purpose to get the nationality, they chose to fight with the Thai communists. After years past, these people all put down their weapons, so China Mainland just simply consider them as normal Thailanders.

Thanks for the history. Exactly the same I had read about. Western media used this part of the history to smear China. Time has changed and they probably haven't been here recently. It looks more like Maco financed by Chinese money and tourist. Just like Vegas. It has a dark and gangster past. Western media is still living in the dark ages. Don't know their motives. But, seeing is believing.

Ken, I like your travel videos more and more. The place you are in is the urban tribe where the descendants of the Chinese Expeditionary Force who participated in the Second World War against Japanese fascism live. I am very happy to see your video. The current flag of the Republic of China is the flag used in Taiwan, China. This flag can also be seen in the Mainland China Museum. The name of the flag is: (Sunny Day, White Sun, Full of Red Earth). You can really show the pictures you took in your video. I am looking forward to seeing the relevant videos in the museum. In recent years, more and more mainland Chinese citizens have gone there to look for relatives/visit. This is real history. I am very happy to directly understand their work and life status through your travel video. It's very cool! I hope your fans will break through 500,000 soon, love from Chinese fans❤️

The pronunciation of “90” in Thai is exactly the same as in Cantonese.😂 The road signs in Chinese indicate the Chinese Museum and Tomb of a Famous Chinese General who brought the soldiers to Northern Thailand, as there are occasionally some Chinese or Taiwanese tourists visiting this area, Chinese road signs are helpful for them to find the way. FYI, the ROC government abandoned these soldiers after it fled to Taiwan. Life was tough at that time, the soldiers had no choice but growing opium to survive. Decades later the ROC government in Taiwan remembered these brave soldiers and brought their children to Taiwan for studies and allow some of them settle down in Taiwan, they have very close relationship with Taiwan and many Chinese language teachers in the village are from Taiwan. Nowadays life is much better, other than tea plantations they also build restaurants and hotels to make a living.
@somsaksompong6894 ай бұрын
The pronunciation of "90" is the same in both Thai and Cantonese because Thai is in the same language group as the Zhuang people in Guangxi, and Guangxi is adjacent to Cantonese.
@kualnchaln6364 ай бұрын
Because a large part of the numeral vocabulary of Thai, Lao, Zhuang, Bouyei and similar languages are borrowed from Middle Chinese (中古汉语).

Dear Ken. Sometimes when you hear Chinese in Thailand it can be other dialects than Mandarin. Many Thai-Chinese speak languages like Teochew, Hakka, Hokkien, Hainanese etc. They usually also speak Mandarin because some of them had a Chinese school education or have business with China. Thailand and China have had cultural, commercial and other relations over the centuries. Thailand has a strong identity that is unique, and some different influences pay homage to their welcoming land of the Free. Kind regards from Switzerland.
